OKC- Sixers

OKC is in trouble. E. Kantor signed an offer sheet and they need to clear some cap space to stay away from deep, deep luxury tax hell.

Sixers get: DJ Augustine, Novak, Jones
OKC gets: 2nd round pick

Novak waived, Jones probably waved. Augustine starts at PG. He's $3 mil this year then I believe an UFA.

That's perfect for the Sixers. Because they're getting a real player in Augustine I wouldn't think they could extract more out of the Thunder except maybe taking the protection of the 1st rounder they already have.

Philly rich. really like this trade. DJ Is a huge upgrade at pg, only 27; and is a decent shooter as well.

Kantars max won't look that bad next year and I think they would pay tax for another year until next year when e cap goes up

I really hope Phili doesn't do a favor to okc like that. If they want to unload those contracts, make them send out a first too.

The problem is as soon as the contract become decent next season. Doesn't will want his money. Do you really want to rebuild with just kanter And Westbrook. I think Thunder have to drop some salary this year to make room for next years durant offer. Maybe try to extend him by the trade deadline this year.

Benjamin: I don't think the contracts the sixers take on in this deal are really that bad. Getting Augustine balances it out.

Maybe Hinkie can get the pick to be unprotected but that's not a big deal. Maybe Hinkie can extract another pick but for it to be valuable it would have to be many, many years down the road.
