Thunder-Twolves-Kings

Thunder get Dunn, LaVine, and Gay

Twolves get Westbrook, McLemore, and Huestis

Kings get Rubio, and Singler.

Yep let's trade off a couple good young players for Russell. That way we can get thru half the year, realize we're too young to win it all, and that Westbrook isn't going to resign and try to trade him at the deadline. Maybe we can get a couple good young players.

That trade obviously only happens with the Twolves having a chance or knowing Westbrook will likely re-sign. He is still just entering his prime. Imagine a big 3 of Westbrook, Wiggins, and Towns.

Under the understanding that he signs A 4 year extension, I'd go Dunn, Lavine and parts. But I'd wanna keep Rubio and move Russell off the ball. I don't see thibs' controlled offense and Russell's penchant for hero ball to mesh well unless you have someone limit Westbrook's exposure.
That said, I'd love that big 3.

Dunn, Lavine, and parts isn't enough for him. Boston, Phili, and LA will offer more than that. If you want a top 8 player, you have to pay for it. You'd have to add in Dieng and a first at least.

That's what I meant by parts. Dieng and a 1st isn't terrible.

No point in trading for Westbrook now, if he really wanted to come to MN he would just sign as a free agent next year.

But he doesn't want to be in MN, so gutting the team for Westbrook is a bad idea.

I agree with the Wolvesfan.

Why do Kings do this? Gay>Rubio

Why trade for Westbrook now? By tradjng for him you will have to give up a lot of pieces, essentially guaranteeing that the Wolves won't be title contenders this year.

Westbrook then leaves and the Wolves are left off in a worse position than theybwere before, with no 2017 draft pick and with less young talent.

If the Wolves want Westbrook, and if he wants to come here, the Wolves will have more than enough cap space to sign him in free agency. And he would be coming to a better team than if we needed to trade for him.
