Magic-Twolves

Magic sends: Vucevic 11mil, E. Payton 2mik

Twolves send: Ricky Rubio

Provides the Wolves the opportunity to start Dunn while securing him a solid back up. A lot of people aren't fans of Vucevic, but he actually provides great spacing, he has a deadly mid range game, is an above average rebounder, and a great post passer. KAT can make up for any liability defensively, plus Thibbs can coach up anyone defensively.

The Magic upgrade the point guard spot and Rubio is a master of leading his passes and lobbing the ball up for more athletic players, an interesting combo when Ibaka, Gordon, and Biombo all share the same court. Spacing will be an issue, but EP is a poor shooter just like Rubio and Rubio is better at every other part of his game.

I think that's to much for Rubio!

Maybe at least send a pick back to magic.

Why would Minnesota want Vucevic and his expensive contract?

Come on. Wroth the increase 11m for a double double guy is too expensive? Get out of here. You may not like the trade, but that's ridiculous.

Again, why would Minnesota want him? Towns is better at C and Dieng is fine at PF. Vucevic offers Minnesota nothing but roster problems.

11 million for Vucevic 16 million for Mozgov.

This trade still doesn't make any sense for the Wolves, they are in no hurry to start Dunn and they don't need a Rubio-lite.

Honestly, Vucevic doesn't improve on Gorgui that much. He scores more, but he also shoots a lot more. He rebounds only slightly better and he is a worse defensively.

I didn't put Rubio's salary up: 13.5 mil, so with 11mil for Vuce and 2.5 for EP the money is really even.

Like I said, I think this makes Minnie a much better scoring team.

Wolves don't need to be a better scoring team, they need a better bench and better defense.

I like this deal for Minnasota. Vuc is grossly underated on here.

Dunn is going to be Minnesota's starter by the time they're going to compete. Not sure how giving him backup minutes is going to help him develop. Payton would suffice as a backup.

I don't see it for Orlando. Rubio is a slightly better EP, but he's also older/ more expensive. There's no point in Orlando trading both him and Vuc for Rubio. Even if you don't like Vuc as a starter, he's great value as a scoring threat off the bench at minimum.

@soc

Just as carl shouldn't be foolish about Vucevic's contract, don't be fooliah about how Payton compares to Rubio. Rubio is a vastly superior player.

Both sides hate it, so clearly it must be a pretty good deal then!

I'd go as far to say Orlando doesn't currently have a starting PG with Payton and Augustin. They both should be backup players at best on a good team.

Oh i'm not arguing value, but the fit is terrible for the Wolves.
