Kings get Jonas Valencunas and #23

Raptors get Willie Cauley Stein and #10

Why would the Kings do this? They get older, move back in the draft, take on salary, and don't end up with a player they can build around.

Because they have the #8 pick too. I knew there would be someone to come on here and just assume that they are trading the only pick they have. so no. they trade ONE of their lottery picks for a near all star level center.

Yeah but the Kings are in a rebuilding mind set and 2 lottery picks are 10 times better than moving back in the draft and getting yet another center that will not help in getting to the playoffs.

It doesn't matter how many picks they have, everything rkenne_16 said still holds true. Valanciunas is a solid player but not a superstar. I'd rather keep WCS who also projects to be a solid player who flashed talent when he was finally given consistent minutes after Cousins trade. Additionally, the 10th pick could yield another high upside prospect like Nitlikina.

They have two picks and almost no young talent. wcs has a chance to develop into a starting Center. He has a chance to be just as good Jonas and the Kings aren't going to be in the playoffs for the forseeable future. They have plenty of time to let him develop.

This is not a good trade for Kings. Move from mid-lottery to a #23 which likely never develops into a good player. JV has a lot of salary and he's older, while WCS is cheaper and more athletic. Kings would never do this.

The two assets the Kings are giving up are both better than the two that the Raptors are giving up.

Do you really think Valencunis has value in today's NBA?
