I'm not sure why New orleans would want to try Cousins already. They started to play fairly well towards the end of the season.

Don't think Hayward would consider going to LA. That trade also doesn't really help the Pelicans at all since doesn't improve their cap flexibility and if they can't get Cousins and AD to work Randle and AD would be even worse. Additionally they can just keep Jrue Holiday to run the point who played well in stretches but needs to adjust to new role with adding a top bigman like Cousins. I think a full offseason together will do wonders. I think resiging Holiday is a no-brainer since Pelicans aren't going to be able to afford a comparable replacement in FA.
