Boston/ NY:

To BOS - Porzingis, pick #8

To NYK - Crowder, pick #1

Zinger slides over to the 5, moving Horford to the 4, and gives the C's a young stud at a position of need. Though Crowder's on a bargain deal, the $6M in savings between his and Zingers contracts opens up the final room needed to make a true max offer to Hayward.

Losing Zinger is a tough pill to swallow, but Fultz becomes the new building block. Adding Crowder gives the Knicks Melo's replacement should they be able to deal him.

Bad for the Knicks.

If I'm Boston I'm taking that deal and running. I'd prefer giving up Bradley than Crowder for salary reasons (Bradley in final year of contract) but Celtics could deal Bradley in another deal. Porzingis is only 21 and proven to be a star (Fultz may be a star but isn't proven) and Celtics need a big more than another guard (although Porzingis isn't a great rebounder) . Factoring in they are also getting the 8th pick where they could still add a decent guard prospect (Smith, Ntilikina or Monk) I think its a no brainer (I'd consider the deal without the #8 included at all) . Also, this deal still opens the possibility for them acquiring Hayward in FA. Him not making an all-nba team improves the chances he leaves Utah for "greener" pastures in Boston.

Don't like it for the Knicks. They should be able to get this type of return for Porzingis alone and even then I don't like the idea of trading Porzingis. They should just try to move Melo and start the rebuild, draft Smith (or Ntilikina who they seem to prefer for Triangle) and tell Porzingis to suck it up. Knicks won't be a great team anytime soon but maybe after another year in the lottery and a little down the line once the young trio develops they can attract FA (it is NY after all) and make a formidable team.

If Boston is getting zinger the 8th pick shouldn't need to be added to this senario.

I'll tell you what's bad for the Knicks.

PHIL JACKSON. He's stunk up the joint since his arrival.

He'll leave before his contract ends and the Knicks are more screwed up than before he got there, 12 million a year to create a more dysfunctional environment. Dolan needs to sell that storied franchise.

Porzingis would be better guided in his career in Boston, they could bring in McHale to teach him how to be great.

Boston just needs to throw in another future 1st rd. pick, Zeller and add Bradley/ Smart and get Lee back. Lee is a great 3pt shooter, consistent, dependable and durable player for 12 mil a year for the next 3 years.

That's not a smart move for the Knicks. Porzingis is their whole value right now, and they need to get multiple assets back for him. If they're moving him it's either for a bunch of picks, or a bunch of win-now types to play with Melo. This isn't enough of either.

If I'm the Celtics I do this pretty quickly though.
