What is happening to the Celtics by the Cavs will definitely change what Boston does this off season

No matter who they threw at LeBron just didn't work so they need someone bigger and more stronger and as much as I don't want to say this... Melo might be that guy..

Boston trades Crowder, 2018 Boston pick, 2017 2-second rd. picks and Jonas Jerebko (S&T)

Knicks trade Melo and W Hernangomez

This allows Boston to either draft #1 or trade down this year or trade this years pick for someone useful..

The only thing that Anthony stops is ball movement. CA can't stop James when he jogs back down the court when he doesn't get the ball on offense.
That doesn't even start to address the question of why the Celtics would waste that kind of money on a declining ISO player and not have the cash left to get the rim defender they need.
If Ainge hits his head on the pavement and decides he wants Anthony, the 2018 first-rounder would probably get it done.

If I'm Boston I wouldn't even give up Melo for Crowder straight up (in large part due to the 20+ mill salary difference which could basically be Hayward) . Melo is a below average defender and not half the athlete Lebron is. Nobody in the league can really defend Lebron by themselves it takes an entire team (force him to shoot from the outside and get no easy buckets inside) .

I agree jaws, nobody can defend LBJ. Maybe they shouldn't sign a max FA. Maybe they should trade down and try to get a big man in the process (Orlando)? Let the next year play out and start then. After all, they did get to where they're at with this group of players. Just need a good C.

But I do wish that some people on here would explain or give their own proposals instead of just disagreeing just for the hell it, And you people know who you are. My grandkids do a better job of explaining.

I seen Melo play Lebron better than any Celtics. not in transit but definitely in 1/ 2 court.
