I like sending Melo to Miami but not sure this trade makes sense for teams involved. Hawks get a nice young piece in 8th pick but also move their best young player in Schroeder and although they get rid of Howard's contract they pick up Noah's awful contract and Dragic's sizable one so not certain how it makes them any better.

If Knicks can attract a top FA I guess this move makes some sense for them.

Why would Miami do this? The Knicks don't even want Anthony, he has zero trade value.

I would take out the Atlanta 1st to Miami. They're already getting arguably the three best current players in the deal, so there's no need to also get a pick.

This is if Atlanta loses Millsap, so I like it as a re-tool. They now have the 8 and the 19 in a deep draft. They can pull down Monk and what will likely be a big man at 19. Dragic comes in to run the show in the meantime, while you can afford to hold onto Noah for a little while. He might be able to be used as a big off the bench in short spurts, but they're not built to contend right now, so his contract shouldn't kill them.

Ny gets their twin tower to Porzingis, they get rid of Melo, and they give their fans a player to talk about. I don't like the move for them, as I'm not a big Whiteside fan, but he gives them a playable, starting, center for only 5 million more than Noah, so the #8 is probably worth that all by itself while Melo being gone will end that bit of drama.
