If Boston can convince George to sign an extension:

Boston
Trades: LA/Sac Pick, Tatum, Crowder
Receives: George

Sign Hayward, Gibson, Olynyk

Thomas/Smart
Hayward/Bradley
George/Brown
Gibson/Yabusele
Horford/Olynyk

Minnesota
Trades: Rubio
Recieves: Crowder

Sign: Lowry, Miles

Lowry/Jones
Wiggins/Miles
Butler/Crowder
Dieng/Bjelica
Townes/Patton

Indiana
Trades: George
Recieve: Tatum, Rubio, La/Sac Pick

Begin rebuild around Tatum with a great pick in either 2018 or 2019.

I don't get why everyone wants Boston to trade for George when his is 100000% a rental and is just looking ahead to next offseason and not focused on winning now with whatever team he is on. I would much rather have Tatum Crowder and the pick (s) we got from Philly than a rental player that doesn't even want to be there. I am one that loves youth and developing players and I strongly believe that one day Tatum will become a player on PG13's level also if you can get that while he is one a nice affordable deal why would you trade that away along with another player on a team friendly deal in Crowder and a potential top 5 pick for a guy that you have no shot at resigning. I mean if he promises to sign an extension I am all for this trade but we know that's not going to happen so I would much rather have the Celtics be quiet on the trade front this offseason and let guys like Zeller and Green go and free up enough money to get Heyward and have a lineup of IT Bradley Hayward Crowder and Horford with Smart Brown Taytum Olynyk Rozier and some other guys coming off the bench.

CS13, I started the post by saying this only works if george agrees to an extension. Obviously the Celtics aren't making this trade if there is even the smallest chance of George leaving next offseason. George said he prefers LA, but I think he just wants to be on a contender and not in Indiana. He can get that in Boston. Reports are saying that if Hayward signs with Boston, George will agree to an extension so the Celtics could trade for him. That is absolutely the best case for Boston. Get Hayward and George in their primes and keep Brown and still have brooklyns pick next year to build through the draft.

I guess I missed that part of the post. And I would need PG13 to put his promise in writing so that way if we do get Heyward and give up the young assists for him that we will get him for multiple years. I feel like people are saying that George is better than Tatum and Crowder and that's what it would take to get him, and I agree but after this season if we make this trade we will probably not have George and we won't have Tatum and Crowder either so I don't think George is worth it. I think we should wait till he is a FA and then make a push for him to see if he really wants to come here.
