This clearly favors the Thunder. The Cavs end up with less depth and a worse starting line up.

That's why they give up a 1st and 2nd round picks to make it fair.

They would have to give up a 1st to get rid of Kanter's contract and Singler has no value. They basically give up McDermott for Love and Grant in this trade.

Wade has very little trade value with the size of his contract unless it's used as an expiring. That is sort of how it's used here since Smith might be hard to trade because of the length of his contract, but the Cavs are better off with Shump, Smith, and Felder than Wade. Wade wouldn't be a bad addition for the Cavs if he gets bought out, but he doesn't fit well in the starting line up. His skill set is redundant beside Lebron and Kyrie, he doesn't have the length or athleticism at this point to be a great defender, he ruins spacing, he can't play the minutes that Shump and Jr can, and the Cavs lose upside here.

I think it's a solid offer for Melo, but if NY was willing to take on bad contracts for him a deal would already be done.

The Cavs wouldn't be willing to do Love for Melo or Smith, Shumpert, Felder, and a 1st for Wade. Why would they do both in the same trade?

I think its foolish for Cavs to trade for Wade or Melo. Their playstyles aren't what they need as a supporting cast around their big 3 (defense, shooting and rebounding) and if they were to trade for them they would have to give up a few of their role players and thus hurt their depth. I think Cavs should only try and add them if they get bought out and even then both would be best suited coming off the bench as 6th men to generate offense off the bench (their starting lineup has plenty of offense already and needs to improve defensively and on the boards which both aren't area of strengths for Wade or Melo) .
