Looks like the Cavs are signing D.Rose. I think this is a great fit. Clevelands " secondary scorers" are all jump shooters. Love, JR Smith, Korver, etc. Other then Lebron and Kyrie, nobody can really take it to the hoop and finish. Rose does that. He gets 18ppg not by shooting, but taking his man to the hooop and a very good midrange game. I think the following lineup is better then a year ago.
Pg: Rose
Sg: Irving
Sf: Lebron
Pf: Love
C: Thompson
Have JR Smith, Korver as your shooters to sub in as needed.
Not a Cavs fan by any means, but i think its a good pick up.

I agree that it's a good pickup. However, I see Rose coming off the bench to provide scoring. I think starting JR with Kyrie and LeBron is still the best lineup with his shooting. Rose will play 20-24 minutes a game giving LeBron and Kyrie ball handling rest.

I like the move if it happens. I think you have him coming off the bench though and play him while Lebron and Kyrie rest. That will let him have the ball in his hands more where he's at his best offensively. The Cavs can limit his minutes which will probably be good for his knees and let them rest Lebron more during the season. I'm curious as to what this means for Felder. I don't see them keeping 4 point guards on the roster.

Agreed throughout, he has to be coming off the bench. A guard combo of Rose and Irving is flat out horrible on defense. AS a knicks fan, I can attest to Rose having ridiculously padded stats. When you actually look at his impact in recent years, he is a very negative player. He doesn't pass well for a pg, and whatever scoring he does bring to the table, his lack of defense negates it.

It isn't a big needle mover. Absolutely doesn't make much of an impact related to catching the warriors.

Lools like the Lakers are getting in on the D. Rose bidding.

Its a solid low risk, moderate upside move. I agree with others that Rose is much better suited coming off the bench and being someone who can create and run the offense when Lebron and Kyrie aren't in the game. I think it will be rare for Kyrie and Rose to share the backcourt together since its awful defensively and you lose some spacing.

I don't think this move will have a big impact on Cavs outcome. Their offseason has been very underwhelming as they were clearly inferior to Warriors and made no major changes as they watched the Warriors make more moves than them and Celtics add a superstar. I always thought them getting Butler or George was a long shot but I'm surprised they didn't shake things up since we already know this roster can't compete with the Warriors and they need to do something to convince Lebron to stick around. I guess they still can make some moves during the season.

If they sign rose then honestly they are only one big trade to being close to the level of the warriors. Honestly Warriors are on a level all their own and I don't see any available players who could take us past the Warriors status but close to it. Honestly I don't believe they will trade Kevin now unless a rare opportunity presents itself. I do believe this would give the Cavs something to think about as far as starting center or the 5th player next year if those four are playing.

I do believe they will attempt to start both Irving and Rose sometime just to check it out and with that being the case TT most likely won't be in the game because space will be needed so Frye becomes more valuable with this move. I believe they should if they already haven't looked at a trade involving, TT, Shumpert, and even possibly Felder or Osman or both depending on the deal, for a All star caliber player like Melo, Drummond, Aldridge, or whoever else that fits the mold.
