Cavs - Magic

Cavs gets:
Biyombo
2020 1st Thunder (via Magic) (Top 20 protected)

Magic gets:
Shumpert
Frye
2020 2nd Miami (via Cavs)

Cavs get a defensive center to their bench unit. Biyombo is needed to protect the paint when Thomas and Rose let their man go by them on drives. Cavs have to many players on their roster and either need to cut one, or make a 2 for 1 deal.

Magic move a big contract to save money long term and to get a chance on free agents next summer. Frye is expiring and Shumpert have a player option for next year so the can possibly save 34 million in this deal.

Cavs 2017/18
Thomas/Rose/Calderon
Wade/Smith/Osman
James/Korver/Jefferson
Love/Crowder/Green
Thompson/Biyombo/Zizic

Pretty solid for both teams. I like it. It helps the Cavs now and in case of a rebuild and gives Orlando the capspace they need.

Don't mind it for either team.

This is fairly even I quite like this Biyombo is a good rim protector so they can load up on shooters in smaller line ups and adding a future first is another asset the Cavs can use maybe flip that pick and the Nets pick for a young star later on.
Shumpert and Frye could give them the cap flexibility to let Weltman improve Hennigans mess sooner rather then later and could be used at the trade deadline too and they still get 2nd rounder to help with their build.
Overall it does help both teams with the positions their already in.
