actually would be a great move for clev. i think it would be a mistake for bk to make this trade, d-lo will be an all star for many years.
only makes sense if bk tanks hard bc they have their pick back and can make it top 5.

I think it's a fairly even trade from the stand point of value, but for the Cavs, I don't think Russell is particularly needed on the current team. I don't like him as a fit with the starters beside two ball dominant guys once IT come back, I don't like his lack of defense which is needed at the sg beside IT, and I'd be worried about JR moving to the bench. I don't think he would be bad off the bench, but Wade's looked good as a combo guard off the bench and I don't think he's particularly needed there. If the Cavs are going to give of the Brooklyn pick, it has to be for a player/ players that fill needs and brings in a high level of talent. I think he Russell has the talent to give it up, but not the fit.

I donâ€™t understand why Brooklyn would trade a young guard that just took a huge step forward for a pick. Doesnâ€™t make much sense to me.

Bmiller, they're going to have to start paying their guys on rookie contracts before the bad contracts they've taken on are off the books and they still don't have a ton of young talent outside of Lavert, Russell, and Hollis Jefferson. The blue print t building a championship team right now seems to be something like what Minnesota has done or Philly and the Lakers look to be trying to do. Using you're cap space on good players before having to resign your own players still on their rookie contracts. Doubling down on a rebuild might be their best chance to build a real contender.

if cavs could get dlo, the next move should be to s+t IT, dlo is the much better longterm option.
