The Pelicans get Carroll

The Nets get Ajinca Asik and a top 20 protected first.

The Pelicans get out of Asik's contract, save some money and get a wing that can shoot, defend and play the 4 at times.

The Nets get some more young assets for a player that doesn't help long term.
