Cavs pass. This makes them thinner, adds salary, they lose the Brooklyn pick, IT for Kemba is a wash and I doubt the Cavs want anything to do with Howard.

I think this could work for the Cavs.
IT is going to be a free agent and there are teams that would give him a max contract.
K Walker is on a good contract for a few years.

And cleveland is a good team for D Howard. He's going to be on a team with leaders and he's going to have a chance on a title.

D Howard and Walker are an upgrade on de defensive end. And that second unit can score and play defense.

C: D Howard/ Thompson
PF: K Love/ J Green/ zizic
SF: LBJ/ J Crowder/ Osman
SG: Korver/ D Wade
PG: K Walker/ D Rose/ Calderon.

It would be worth it just to see Bron-Bron deal with Howard.

Howard, Bron=bad idea. Kemba, and MKG have been untouchable. Frye, Smith, moved around quite a bit before finding haven with the Cavs. Shumpert makes too much money.

I would love to see LeBron and Howard try to co-exist. "A team with leaders" could describe every team Howard's been on since he left Orlando, and it hasn't worked out any of those places either. LA, especially, had an alpha dog in Kobe, but Steve Nash was also on that squad, and I can't think of many players of that era who were better leaders.

Bryant was a great player, but he wasn't a leader.
The last time a team really had some veteran leaders, Boston won the title. Garnet, Allen and Pierce could manage Rondo (for some time)
LBJ/ D Wade and Korver could lead D Howard and this would be his last chance winning a championship. The only thing he needs to do is protecting the rim and grab some rebounds.
And Korver, LBJ, Love and Walker can all shoot threes and spread the floor, so his offensive play could be good too.

Gasupo, when Bryant, Gasol, and Odom won championships who was the leader if not Bryant? Walker is not for sale. Bank on it. Friendly contract.

Howard has blown up to many talent teams and isn't talented enough any more to justify risking the current chemistry and future of the team on. I'm not sure he would be worth trading Tristan Thompson straight up for. Especially given the fact that the Cavs focus is the Warriors and secondarily the Celtics. Both teams are much bigger threats on the perimeter than in the post and that's the place on defense where TT excels as a center and where Howard leaves something to be desired at this point.
