Bulls are under the cap and there for must take matching salary back on any trade.

Problem with the C's is that they either have highly paid players who are good enough to be worth the money, or they have low paid players who are either part of their long term plans (Brown, Tatum), or are not pieces who don't make enough to allow a salary match deal. They're either going to need to use their DPE with a team over the cap, or make a blockbuster that includes Horford.

I don't see any kind of blockbuster happening with Boston. At this point, you'd have to give up too much for a top flight player, and it would wind up being a net negative. Davis is fantastic, but I don't think I'd move Horford, Brown, the Lakers/ Kings pick and more draft capital for him. None of those individuals are better than Davis, but combined they're worth more. We've seen him try to play with a couple of good teammates. it's not enough. Granted, Hayward Kyrie and Tatum are probably better than Holiday and Cousins, but still. Brown, Horford and whoever the pick translates to are at least two, and possibly three all stars.

I do see them using the exception, but I don't see players moving in return. I think they'll target Tyreke with a 1st rounder, or they'll wait it out for the buyout market.
