The Cavs would still be over the cap, so they couldn’t sign Lopez. I also don’t think that you can get anything positive out of Thompson. Cleveland will have to send a second rounder to unload him.

50 mil is an overvalue for a 33 year old. Hood is at least worth 18. Make that 4/ 72. B. Lopez deal is about right. Don't know that he's my first choice because of Defensive lapses, but he shoots the 3 ball well for a 265 pound 7fter. Nets had Thompson. His name was T. Young. Contract will be tradable in 2019 summer possibly. New look Cavs could help his numbers, and value. Nets wouldn't want him right now. Korver can now spot up shoot with new CAVS keeping him isn't terrible.

Jorga, Hood might have gotten 18 or 20 million last summer or the summer before, but with all that bad contracts that have been signed the past few years the market seems to have flipped. Look at that Lou Williams deal or Caldwell-Pope having to sign a 1 year deal after I think he'll get closer to 12 million a year. The team with money are going to go after big time free agents and try to keep flexible if they strike out. Hood would have to take a fairly big risk and wait out all of the stars deals. He's restricted so the Cavs won't have to panic if he does it. It's a bad time to be a free agent.

That goes 2-ways, CLE has to match to keep. We'll see how the rest of the season goes, and how Hood plays. McCollum is paid nearly 30 million. Hood is 6'-8" SG/ SF that D's up. If McCollum got that at the same point in his career, Hood is going to get 60% of that on a conservative estimate I'd think. CAVS are not in the Drivers seat to underpay. Look what Brooklyn did with Allen Crabbe? POR did it to Indy with Roy Hibbert too, although Hibbert had some good seasons before his body gave out, and the game changed. Hood doesn't even have to want to leave, and CLE has to match. I'd offer 25 just to hinder CLE if I was an east team with cap, and a playoff chance. Williams is 6 foot, and 31. Pope is nowhere near the player Hood is. They are good examples for how much more Hood will garner in offers. I agree with that.

Lebrons not signing a 5 year deal and brook lopes is not worth 12 mill a year.
