If there's one thing the Nets shouldn't do, it's going for a quick win.
Both trades favors the Nets, so it's tempting.
But those trades won't make them a (good) playoff team.
So they better keep young players and assets.

Agree Gasupo. Allen is playing well and has a potential to be a Whiteside. Russell and LeVert are good point guards and if Russell is motivated, he can become at least a border line all star someday.

That would be the most Nets thing they could possibly do. They trade away 3 of their top 4 players here and would still probably struggle to even make the playoffs.

If Lebron decided to go to the Nets, these moves make some sense. If not, these moves give them a chance to make the playoffs at best.

Miller, that's exactly right. If you have someone huge who wants to go to lead those two, you're definitely thinking about doing it. But just Kemba and Whiteside don't make you a good playoff team, or close to a contender. At this point, I think the Nets are better served adding through free agency and future draft picks. All four of those guys look as if they should be contributors on a winning team. Dinwiddie and Allen in particular look like future studs, while Russell still has the talent to develop into something. Lavert is likely a bench guy on a good team.

This current Nets administration has done a fantastic job of adding quality players, with minimal draft equity, next to no trade value on the roster and no reason for free agents to want to come to the team. The last thing that they should do now is trade away more first round picks.
