The Celtics get Porzingas

The Knicks get Yabusele, Nader, Boston's 2018 1st, the 2019 Clippers 1st, and the King's 1st

The Celtics don't lose a rotation player in the deal and get a guy that can help them during the playoff push and for the forseeable future. They get to buy low because of the knee injury. Waiting and hoping that you can get you're future center in a draft devoid of centers next year seems like bigger risk than this.


The Knicks do the most unKnicks thing possible and truly commit to a rebuild. Their roster at this point is KP and not much else. Plus, banking on a guy with a knee injury to be your franchise corner stone is a lot more risky than banking on him to be a rim protector and 3rd option.

See, I don't hate it for the Knicks or C's, but I don't think the Knicks will tap out on Porzingis, even if it is a fair offer.

I'm not sure if the Knicks would do this, but this would probably be a good move for them. If I'm Boston, I'd try to keep that Sacramento pick and substitute the Memphis pick and maybe another player. I'm very torn on how I feel about Porzingis at this point. He came in and showed such amazing potential, but his development hasn't jumped like I had hoped it would. Part of it could be the situation in NY which would mess with your game, and also has messed with his attitude.

The big question I have on him is his conditioning. Before he got hurt, he was really falling off and consistently looked tired. That's not something you're hoping to see from a 22 year old. Could part of it be that he just doesn't feel like putting in the effort to a losing cause? Maybe. but that doesn't sit well with me either.

What are you talking about soxfan? Before the injury he was leading the league in blocks and I believe top ten scorer. What leap were you supposedly hoping for? Leading the league in scoring?
