Horford, Brown, Tatum and a late first is a lot to give for anyone.

Cut the mavs out, NO would prefer Tatum to #5.

Boston will not trade three starters and a No. 1 for Davis. Brown, Rozier, the Kings pick next year and another No. 1 is about all Ainge would offer.
Not saying what's fair value and what isn't, just what Boston would be willing to give up.

Is Brown actually a starter? He wouldn’t have started had there not been injuries. He’s likely not a starter next year.

It is a heavy price, but superstars with years left on their contracts have a heavy price (what’s the last one that was traded? )

Not saying Boston pays the price, but NO wouldn’t take much less. Maybe more like Horford, Tatum, and 2 firsts.

I think brown starts if Hayward would have played. Tatum coming off the bench. Now, different story. I have no idea other than guessing what celts starting lineup will be.

To start the season, but doubtful to end it. Next year, either Brown comes off the bench or Boston doesn’t play a PF.

Who's playing 2? Brown is a 2/ 3. Hayward is or was 20 pounds heavier than Tatum and less athletic but was a better shooter. They are both 3's no doubt there. I can see Tatum starting some at 4. In a small ball line-up. Hayward if he is still 225 possibly could start @ the 4 in the small ball scenario but I give the defensive edge to tatum. When Baynes plays Tatum or Hayward sit. Hard to sit 30 mil though so I assume its tatum. I guess it could be brown off the bench but he would have to not get better and Tatum would have to significantly improve his ball handling.

Stevens is going to mix up his lineups based on the matchup, but their version of the death lineup next season will be Irving, Brown, Hayward, Tatum, Horford. That group will get some serious play, but there will be times where they go big and you'll see a true center starting (Baynes? ), and at that point you'll see Brown getting time off the bench as the sixth man. The hope is that you've brought in players who care more about team success than individual stats like you see with the guys on the Warriors and always saw on the great Spurs teams. That's the only way you can succeed with a team with such depth.

How about cut the Pels out instead. AD is about to get a Supermax offer that exceeds what he could get elsewhere by 85 mill. The Pels are a team on the rise with or without DMC. To be fair also why would Boston break up a solid core that without two all-star caliber starters, almost made the Finals. The trade actually makes no sense either way but Celtics fans are obsessed with AD.

Soxfan893 Brown started 70 games at 2 last season. Smart 11. Unless celts sign a 2, don't see anyone we are currently aware of playing his position.

Btec, I think you'll typically see Brown as the starting 2, and they'll go with that athletic lineup with Horford at the 5. But there will be times Stevens wants to just go BIG, and at that point I think you'll see Hayward and Tatum at the 2/ 3. It could also be done with Tatum coming off the bench in those games. I will never doubt Brad's matchup decisions though. He was always able to make Zeller look like a stud for a couple of games a year in the right matchup.

My whole point was that everyone across the depth chart will probably be taking a step back in the stats column than they would if they were running a team of their own, and every player needs to buy in. That's the way you compete with Golden State, and that seems to be the kind of player that Ainge has been going after. I think this group has that team first mentality.
