I know it's far fetched, but if Lebron leaves and Cavs are wanting to start over...

Cavs get Melo, Terrance Ferguson, Alex Abrines, Stanley Johnson, okc second

Detroit gets Kyle Singler, Okc second

Thunder get Kevin Love, JR Smith, Luke Kennard

Detroit may need some convincing, but Singler played well for them, it cuts salary which is a big need for them, plus a pick is a pick.

Cavs essentially take on an expiring deal with Melo (he's not opting out of that type of money). They shed Smith, and they get a second rounder.

Thunder are ready to make a title run next season. Maybe Smith can play that Harden/Waiters role off the bench.

Melo wouldn't accept that and while Love doesn't have the value he used to, I would imagine they want a 1st out of him.
