New Butler to Philadelphia trade idea.

Philadelphia gets Butler and Taj Gibson.

Butler is one of the best two way players in the league and Gibson can backup the 4/ 5 at a good rate. A starting lineup of Fultz, Butler, Simmons, Saric, and Embiid would make things interesting in the East.

Minnesota gets Wilson Chandler, Robert Covington, TLC, and Miami's 2021 1st.

Lineup of Teague, Wiggings, Chandler, Covington, and Towns' might be able to complete for playoff spot in West. TLC can improve depth and fits better with Minnesota's timeline. Miami's 2021 1st could be quite good. Minnesota moves to outlast teams like Golden State, Houston, and the Lakers as they get older.

Sixers say yes. Salaries match up real well. Covington, Chandler, TLC combine for about $27 million. Gibson and Butler combine for $33 million. Maybe sixers through in Holmes to get the salaries even closer. Good idea.

Sixers would jump at that, but Thibs is no dope and would give it a hard no. Covington is a slightly above average player and the rest of the package is worthless. Adding Gibson just makes the deal even more one-sided.

supercollider: Miamis unprotected 2021 is worthless? First time I heard that take on an unprotected future first. Glad boston got those "worthless" unprotected future 1sts from the Nets a few years back.

I think the Wolves could get more value if they didn’t aim for draft picks. Draft pick prices are kind of inflated since half the league is tanking.
