Mainly they just signed favors, but I guess the deal works. Exum is a pretty good future prospect. Jazz have no real interest is my guess. Jerebko did similar love type things (shooting) and they let him go. Love being a terrible defender makes him kind of a tough trade. got to be to the right team with the right hole to fill. Dallas when nowitzki retires?

Loves defensive woes are over stated and with the personnel in Utah, they can protect him. He’s fine when he’s inside and he closes out well. He just can’t stay with wings on the perimeter. Which isn’t a huge deal if you have Gobert behind you and when you’re sharing the floor with 4 other guys that can defend the perimeter you can be hidden inside or on corner shooters. He also want be expected to be a big contributor protecting the rim. Metrics have him as a slight net positive on defense the past 3 years actually.

What he can do is take the pressure off of Mitchell on offense, force defenders to stay outside clearling lanes for him, letting Gobert get more lobs and offensive boards, and e pushes Ingles and other guys back in the pecking order letting them end up with more free looks. The Jazz clearly need more offense if they’re going to make a jump and I think Love can do that without really disrupting their defensive ability.

It's weird to me that people compare Love to these incredibly average role players like Jerebko. Love is an all star, Jerebko is an 8th man.

Love would be a perfect fit in Utah. They have defenders all over the place, and no one to actually score aside from Mitchell. Gobert and Favors would be able to cover most of Love's shortcomings on defense. Sometimes you have to sacrifice some defense for more offense. Utah is a great example.

Btec in all fairness, you wrote trying to compare love to a tall back up that shoots. Not only does Love shoot better than him, but he’s an elite rebounder, a great outlet passer, a solid passer from the elbow, draws free throws at a high rate, Love is a better post player and metrics show Love as a much better defender. It’s like comparing Larry Nance jr to Lebron because they can both jump high.

Sounds like a direct comparison, but clearly I misunderstood.

It's not just that one comment though. Phili fans think that Saric is the same as Love, which is crazy. Blazer fans don't want Love because of Aminu.

People undervalue Love, who is a really good player. He's not a top 10 player, but he's a very solid second option kind of guy. He's the PF version of McCollum (or McCollum is the guard version of him? ) .

Your using analytics rkenne16 not metrics. Rich white men use numbers to relay information to them so they can comprehend whether to give their worker a raise or not. It's a nothing number to people who actually scout talent. You put a passing characterization down twice. Love is a bad defender, is slow up and down the floor, is injured often, has a 30 mil contract, you try to trade this guy you have so much man love for often. He rebounds well, he shoots well, he passes well. He doesn't handle the ball. Quit being dorks.
