Whiteside playing as backup to Kat is a funny thought. Whiteside would be demanding to be traded immediately, raising all sorts of hell.

He doesn't have Whiteside backing up Towns. He has them both starting with Towns at the 4. It's an interesting concept. I'm not the biggest Whiteside guy, but he does bring some solid attributes for a big, and those should fit what Thibs likes to do. Towns probably has the mobility to get out to the line on defense, and on offense, he can match up on pretty much any 4 or 5, so that wouldn't be an issue.

I think Minnesota would be a bad defensive team with towns and whiteside in at the same time. Fast breaked' to death and shot out of the building.
