Yea I get it we have a small window. However if Kawhi and jimmy both leave after this year they will be hurting. This 2 firsts would be valuable for the rebuild .
Wouldn’t be mad to see it and see raps have a really great chance at the east.
But a lot of risk for 1 year and golden state is still so good we would prob still lose handily.

That would be a great trade, but Toronto can't take that risk, they would be the next Nets, if both Butler and Leonard leave.

Make the first pick lottery protected then try like 2 seconds but if that doesn't work throw in the other first. It would be a lil less of a risk if they both leave because they would still get the first one cause they would be lottery, but they would still be pretty bad off. OG is a good young athletic player with good potential so by doing this with the firsts they are losing 3 young assets and a good 3&D veteran. If Butler puts T-Wolves in a bad position with no leverage I don't see any teams giving up 2 firsts, in the George and cousins trade no one gave up 2 firsts.

Salaries don’t work, so it’s a non-starter anyways, but three young assets is one too many. If the Raps really felt like they were in the driver’s seat for re-signing Kawhi, then it’s more likely that they make a move like this, but Butler doesn’t re-sign in Toronto if Claw doesn’t stay.

If you could replace Green with Powell and Miles plus add another small asset from Toronto and I’d like it. That Tortonto defense would be a monster.

They would be on way better position then the nets Torontowill have cap space.

How do you figure that II? Raptors have $78M committed without player options, Nets have $42M.

It would be a huge risk for Raptors. And still that team may or may not be able to get past Boston in Eastern Finals. In the West they would be 3rd behind GS and HOU. Its just a lot of future potential lost because i can't see Leonard and Butler both resigning there.
