Indy: J Butler+ E Turner

Wolves: McCollum+Bogdanovic

Portland: T Gibson+ C Joseph+ T Young+ Sabonis+ 1rnd pick Indy+ 1rnd pick Wolves

Indy get a second star and Turner could be a good sixth man in Indy

The Wolves get a great replacement for Butler.

Portland saves money and they can rebuilt arround D Lillard, receiving the assets to get a second star.

McCollum is worth close to indy's Paul George trade value. Sabonis and late picks aren't good enough and it's a terrible start to a rebuild for the blazers. Lillard is too old to start a rebuild with him as the center piece and it didn't work the first time, so obviously he's good but is not a #1 banana that can lead a team to the promise land without major help, which the blazers didn't provide when they should have. Trade both McCollum and lillard for good draft picks if it's a rebuild. Taj Gibson, joseph, t. young are junk in return.

This saves Portland 7M this year and 38M next year.
The picks can be used to get another good player. (

McCollum and Lillard both are great players, but their defense isn't good enough to get them to the Western finals, so they could trade one of them. I would trade Mccollum and Keep Lilliard.

If their defense is the problem and you would trade 1 then why mccollum? He's the better defender of the 2.

Lillard and McCollum are equal defenders, but Lillard is a faaaaaaaar superior player in every other aspect of the game. That's why you trade McCollum before Lillard.

That said, their defensive issues are overstated. They had a top 10 defense last year with them. The issue isn't those two, it's the rest of the team. To make the west finals, they'd need a top 10-15 player to go with them. You can't make it to the west finals with one all star and one borderline all star. Ask OKC, or SA, or Utah, or NO.

Example: Swap Curry and Thmopson with Lillard and McCollum. GS still wins the west. Portland is still the 3 seed and out in the first or second round.

@ B Miller

This is why i trade McCollum and bad contracts for draft picks
Sabonis is developping well, so he can become the third option.

And they can trade the two draft picks and another bad contract for a star.

McCollum always has the tougher assignment than lillard. True the #'s are the same but McCollum weighs more, has longer arms and for 40 minutes a game has a tougher opponent to defend typically.
