Is this technically possible ?

Warriors trade Iguodala and Livingston for draft picks

Warriors now have nearly 70m salary space

Resign Cousins for i don't know 20,30 or 40m deal for multiple years

Resign Durant, Thompson and Green for a one year 10 or 15m deal

And then, next year, use the birds to resign those three for bigger and muliple years deals, probably close to the max

And doing so, secure their big five for the next 4 to 5 years

Do the cap rules allow something like that ?

If so, Do you think the three concerned would make the effort ?

If, the guys they had bird rights for took so little this year that they could fit cousins under the cap. There are also rules to the maxes you can give. They all can’t grt the super max. Plud, there is a hard cap.

Durant said no more discounts. The warriors pay Curry like the best player on the team but Durant is the best player. Thompson may take a slight pay cut, or a deal that incrementally goes up when Curry's comes off the books, Green will take whatever. Durant doesn't need long term security but will need 35 mil a season at the minimum. Where does cousins fit?

1st Green isn't a free agent until after the 19-20 season. 2nd. Livingston's deal isn't guaranteed so they would just need to trade Iggy.
3rd. Even though KD and Klay are FA's they're cap holds would still count against the cap until they resign or the Warriors renounce their rights.
The scenario u presented is the exact reason why the NBA has cap holds to prevent teams from doing this.

Green wants to win dpoy again so he can sign for a super max in 2020 . Don't think he taking a discount. but Thompson going to have LA and Philly throwing everything at him. I think next year Thompson Leavee and they resign Durant to a max plus extend green max and cousins leaves.

II, that sounds more like a want than a logical thought comprised from evidence. Want GSW to break up maybe to give the Lakers a better shot is my bet! And get Thompson in the process!

The Warriors would be crazy to give Green the super max. To be honest, I wouldn't even give him the regular max. He's a nice player but he's not a guy who's going to carry a team. IMO he's a $20-$25 mill per year type of player.

I didn't say he would sign with the Lakers just saying warriors not going to max out 4 players. Durant max AND curry max. green more important then Thompson so I think Thompson the odd man.

So you don't think in off season Lakers philly and other teams not going to offer Thompson the max. That's logical that teams with cap will offer Thompson a Max not just the Lakers. i think they 3 peat and break up because money. No way all four those players get max contracts which they deserve especially what love Griffin wall and Conley are getting paid.

Curry is a super-max, I don't think Durant will sign an official max deal in terms of years. Thompson can have his max and still sign green. GSW are going to try to hang a banner in their new building. They don't really have to worry about green for another season.

I think they lock Durant up with a 5 year super Max. Like green said he want that award and super max money comes with him getting it. So his agent can say look he want the max extension or he going to test free agency. Say my situation right where cousins and Thompson walk warriors would have no choice but to max him out or at least close to it.

Btec: the Super Max is only for players who are signing a deal coming off their rookie extension and must be in either their 8th or 9th season.
