Is it true that Kyrie Irving and Anthony Davis are both "Derrick Rose Rule" contracts and thus cannot be on the same team?

Until July 1, 2019 when Irving's contract expires. It has a lot of parts for its full explanation, but in general Davis, and Irving are both Rose Rule max contracts currently, and no team may possess more than 1 Rose Rule player contract.

So the earliest would be the start of next offseason. So don't expect to see AD traded until at least then. One it enables NO to place a super max offer in front of AD and two it enables Boston to put an actual executable offer down for AD.

To the Celtics anyway. It was always sort of that way league wide anyway but someone could come to the table with a ridiculous offer the Pela can't refuse. The Suns 1st right now would motivate me if I were the Pels. I'd trade Holiday, Randle too and start a full rebuild. Hopefully around Williamson.

Its one of the better trade AD and rebuild proposals, but Tatum would also have to be added.

But Boston could do a trade package with Irving include for AD to get around the Rose Rule before the trade deadline.
