Personally I don't see the Wizards trading Beal. He's a guy to build with but with Walls surgery they would love to get out of his huge contract if they can.

Cavs Wizards

Cavs receive
Wall
Mahinmi
2020 first round pick
2022 first round pick (top 10 protected)

Wizards receive
Thompson
Clarkson

Cavs take on Walls future commitment and Mahinmis contract for first round picks. Wall has a chance at a new start and to recover with no pressure. Mahinmi just isn't a good contract for what he produces.

Wizards get rid of a huge commitment with Wall and give Beal the keys to the franchise. They receive the Thompson who is playing up to his contract and possibly better than expected and Clarkson who is having a good season offensively. Clarkson will give the offensive help that Beal would need along with his production. They give up two firsts but it does give the Wizards more financial flexibility for the future.

Like Porter, Wall will not be free or bargain basement and I doubt will cost 2 1sts to get out of his deal. There is always a sucker. Wall is having the same procedure Conley had and Conley played terrible with that injury. Not paying the trade kicker for him though.

I guess Sexton goes to the bench then.

Btec I understand what he could do this year before the injury but there is no way anyone is giving anything for Wall with the surgery and not knowing what will harm to Walls game. I mean he’s locked up for four years at 33-47 mil at an increasing rate. He’s already 29 and with the surgery he will be close to 30 when he comes back so who knows what will happen. If there wasnt a trade market before, then the Wiz will be lucky to find a sucker now. Like oh said Conley go worse so Wall may struggle as well but that’s a risk a team may make with a few picks added with it and Cavs said they will take on money for picks.

Fredman Wall is done for the year so it will give time for Sexton to develop this year. Wall can also mentor Sexton so it’s not like it won’t benefit Sexton unless Wall becomes a distraction and bashes Collin for whatever reason. Come next year when Wall returns during Camp, then they can figure out how to play together at the same time.

I didn't say conley got worse after the injury. I said both Wall and he played badly with the same or similar injury. (Trading him now concerns that) Conley looks fine to me, better than I remember him last almost? Wall with his trade kicker of 15% having to be paid and Mahinmi is probably going to take someone special. 2 seasons of bad money like Batum, Dieng, Hardaway, Felicio would probably enter the equation somewhere. To stamp a player a super max and then pay two 1sts to offload him? It's a stretch.

Cavs fans always hopeful even in basement. I love that NY and cavs fans have the most support here even though both teams are crappy.

You say supporters, I say dreamers.
