So Chicago takes an extra year of Knight for a 2nd round pick? Why would they?

Or they could just lose Parker for nothing, they get a pick and a guy that is still young enough and fits their timeline in Chriss. They will be a lottery team for two or three more years, so this isn't that bad.

Since they aren't really playing Parker right now, I don't think they care if they lose him for nothing.

Plus, Parker has a team option for next year, so they can keep him if they want to anyway.

If they can't find a deal they'll waive Parker. Multiple bench emptying games and Parker is the only guy not getting minutes. Something is definitely going into happen.

The don’t lose Parker for nothing. It will open up capspace. Not to mention that teams aren’t going to take on salary for well below market value just to not lose a guy for nothing. The Rockets are struggling to move Knight with a 1st attached.

The reason Houston is struggling with dealing Knight and a 1st is because they either want a talented player back or expiring contracts. They are not going to get. However, they may be able to get a salary dump into someone's cap space during the offseason for that package. That's about it.

Knight could be a decent gamble by next years deadline as a trade piece? Pax said Parker was a short term gamble, why not tee up knight?
