Rockets send: Brandon Knight and 2019 first round pick
Rockets receive: Willie Cauley-Stein

A replacement for Capela while hurt that’s also an expiring deal and getting off Knight is worth giving up a first round pick for.

Kings send: B. Bogdonavic, K. Koufos, WCS
Kings receive: Andre Drummond, Zaza P.

Pistons receive: Hous 2019 1st, Bogdonavic, Koufos, B Knight.

Kings: Get an elite rebounder who can play fast and offers a presence in the paint and as a rim runner. Money spent on Drummond would likely be less effective in FA due to market size.
Pistons: Gain a first round pick, a sharp shooting wing, expiring contracts that offer financial flexibility instead of paying the max for a player who doesn’t play like it and doesn’t mesh well with his superior front court mate.

So let me get this straight. You want the Kings to pay Bogdan, Koufus and WCS and $5 mil of our current cap space for a center who plays slower than WCS or Koufus. This trade also depletes the Kings roster depth (Bogdan) which is the main weakness of the roster. And then you want to pay another $50 mil over the next 2 seasons? It would be cheaper just to match anything WCS gets offered ($10-$12 mil per year) and target some wing FAs.

Koufous and WCS are just expiring deals and you’re getting a better player at the same position so you aren’t losing anything plus this is WCS’s best season due to it being a contract year and sign a guy famous for lapses of effort is a bad move. While WCS does play faster than Drummond, Drummond’s no plodder, he’s one of the faster starting Centers in the league and he’s way better player overall.

So you’re basically giving up one asset (Bogey) for a far superior player, and tbh it’s not like you’re a FA destination that you need max cap space.

WCS is not an expiring deal. He is an upcoming RFA that is not going to be offered much ($10-$12 per year) that the Kings can easily match. Although Drummond is an improvement, the loss of BB8 is more of a negative to the current roster that is lacking wing depth as well as the loss in salary cap flexibility by having to pay Drummond when rookies are going to need to be extended. OVERALL, this does not help the Kings and thus they will pass.

i like the first one, trying to get a 1st for wcs (who i’m guessing isn’t in their future plans) is exactly the trade sac should be looking for.
