They'd be better off keeping all those assets and signing Kyrie and Durant to those max deals. I understand Davis said he'd consider staying in NY, but it seems all but certain he's going to LA. Why not keep Knox and (possibly) Zion? Bring back Jordan on a team friendly deal and you have a solid line up.

Kyrie/ DSJ
Ntilikina/ Trier
Durant/ Knox
Zion/ Thomas
Jordan/ Robinson

that seems more competitive, balanced, and set up for long term success than Kyrie, Davis, Durant, and whatever free agents you can get. take it from a sixers fan "sign vets to fill out roster" is a lot more underwhelming than it seems. Let another division team (Boston) overpay for a one year rental.

If Davis ends up in LA, which i doubt, it won't be for 2 years. He'll be in Boston next season. ;)

I legitimately hope he does end up in Boston next year so they can throw away the sustainability of their team in the garbage for a one year rental :)

Smunro we know your trolling, bc thomas won't be on the team vs dotson.

I'm really not trolling I just don't watch the Knicks enough to know their rotation. I honestly thought Insider meant Glenn Robinson III when i saw his name in the original post.

About to lay money that Durant ends up in LA. on the Clippers.

Jerry West was the man who built the Warriors, betting on him having an actual plan and being able to execute it.

Remember Davis did have the Clippers on thst short list of teams he would sign an exyension with.

Don't forget that West also built the Lakers for many years too.
I was excited to see West go to the clippers. I sure he has a plan. But if it Davis? He'll have to wait another year, because he's coming to Boston.

Just read this quote in the Athletic

"But one thing to always keep in mind as the sweepstakes unfold is how much Durant respects Jerry West, who now works for the Clippers. "

Not saying this is a fake news story, but the Athletic is known for publishing some pretty questionable stories. The truth with the NBA is always hidden at first like an out right lie, so this could be true, but it would have to include why before a 3rd possible championship Durant would even be considering switching teams, or GSW was letting him go. Durant doesn't feel like the K. Leonard situation to me.
