Some little luck for Mavs.

Let`s say the Mavs get #2.

Nicks: #1
Mavs: #2
Cavs: #3
Suns: #4

Suns are going for Morant, NY takes Zion, Cavs probaby Barrett. So Mavs offer Suns to trade up. Drummond and Holmes can dominate the rim and shot open threes and Pistions need to change something and are stack at CAP:

Suns:
- #2 Morant
- Lee
Mavs:
- Holmes
- Bridges
- Drummond
Pistons:
- Powell
- #4

Finally Mavs S&T Walker:

Charlotte:
- #32
- 30m trade exception
Dallas:
- Walker 5y

Walker can shot the lights out and is quick, Bridges can do everything and is a good defender, Drummond and Holmes can dominate in the middle two way!

Drummond, Holmes, Mejri
Zinger, Max, Dirk (Ante)
Luka, FinneyS, Jackson
Bridges, Hardaway, Harris
Walker, Brunson, Barea

Very good team! Very good bench. That can beat them all.

Sooo, to move up from #4 to #2, you expect the Suns to trade away Mikal Bridges AND take on Lee's expiring contract?

I would pass and take the chance that Mavs and Cavs both pass on Ja Morant because they already have primary ball handlers (Doncic and Sexton) and may target shooters like Barrett.

There's no way that Mavs and Cavs pass on Morant, if he's the best player available. You should always draft talent over need.
Ask Portland (Sam Bowie over some stuff named Jordan) or Greg Oden over KD. Thinking that was Portland also? Or am I wrong. could be. Lol.

If he is what the Cavs and Mavs think is the best player. GMs rate players differently (especially when they go into evaluations looking for specific skills like shooting) . Was Fultz the best player last year? Lonzo Ball? You can argue that Donovan Mitchell was the best player in that draft at 13. It happens all the time.

Bowie/ Jordan

Oden/ Durant

I'd pick Morant 1st.
