Why would the Celtics trade a 21 year old future all star for a project big man and another mid 1st draft pick in a down draft!

One cause although Tatum is a great player he doesn't seem to hell with the current players. Namely kyrie who Boston seems bent on keeping. Also I didn't specify what year. If Boston feels more comfortable with next year's that's fine. Bamba is a "project" but it fills a near future void, and could create future capspace for the 2020 free agency. The pick is what it is.

If they’re focused on keeping Irving than trade Tatum in a package for Davis. That’s just not a competitive offer for him.
