Celtics loose Kyrie, Horford Opts in, resign Terry Rozier

Celtics- John Wall, Bradley Beal, pick 9, Celtics get best of Wizards pick or their own in 2020

Wizards- Gordon Hayward, Marcus Smart, Yabuslele, Ojehele, pick 14, 20, 22

Wizards are in a position where they take on Hayward contract for a few years while offloading Walls contract (4 years 160+ million) kicking in now and ending in 2023. They can begin their rebuild with 3 first round picks in the draft this year. They expose themselves to a swap in 2020 because that's what offloading Walls contract costs.

Celtics- Capela, Gordon, Rockets 2020 pick
Rockets- Horford, 9

Celtics do this because Capela is on a good contract locked up longterm and fits Beal and Tatums timeline more than horford. Rockets do this because they are in win now mode and also can get pick 9 wich can be used as a trade asset or to draft a solid prospect.

Celtics new lineup-
Rozier/ Wall
Beal/
Brown
Tatum/ Theis
Capela/ Williams/ Baynes

Celtics could look very scary in 2021 if they somehow are able to retain brown and Wall returns to form and Tatum and Beal develop. If Brown walks they have a plethora of picks to play around with.

Wall is not tradable with his contract, worst in NBA, and injury problems. Wash would have to give up multiple 1st to get a rebuilding team to take him. A contender won't touch him, Wash should trade Beal and plan on rebuilding until Wall comes off books in 4 years and keep their picks. Wall's trade clause means he would make over $40 million as a backup.

Walls contracts jumping to like 50 mil a year I don’t even know if adding Beal is worth it for the Celtics. How would they keep Rozier Brown Tatum Beal and Wall. Those 5 contracts would exceed the cap in two years.

Boston needs a 3rd team like Suns to send Wall and 9th take Johnson.

So if somone views Heyward and Wall as a push, then you are saying that Marcus Smart, Yabuslele, Ojehele, pick 14, 20, 22 is equal to Beal + 9 and that ain't even close.

The 9 isn’t enough to get off of Wall. That contract is a disaster. They would have to give up a ridiculous amount of assets to get off of him. Maybe more than they have.

Wall and Hayward are not a push. Wall's contract has a trade clause that increases by 10 or 15 percent to whoever acquires him. That means 2 more years and over a $100 million more than Hayward. Wall is recovering from an achilles injury, he will never be the same. His strength has always been his speed which will never come back after that injury.

Nick420, I agree with you that wall’s contract is way worse than Hayward’s but Beal was a top player last year and is still young. Also, the 9th pick has lots of value for a team thinking about rebuilding so I don’t know why the wizards would include that even if it meant unloading wall’s contract.

So it sounds much like how Haywards recovery has gone. Thus the push.

Zion2.0, I agree Beal is a stud and they should get as much as they can for him now while is value is high. Not only would they give up pick 9 but also swap 2020 with Boston. Would mean they would have pick in 20's for pick probably in top 5. Stupid trade for all teams.

Wall likely is not playing next season, why give up anything for him right now.
