if luol deng is traded with a 1st rd to a different team do they have to take back a player of same value. How does it work?
1.) The Lakers don't like Gasol?
2.) Wow, really, u havent heard all the lakers fans wanting to trade gasol
3.) Lol, Gasol has one bad playoff year and now the fans say that the Lakers are upset with him.
It's more like because he had one bad playoff year, the fans want him gone.

It depends. If the other team is under the soft cap, then they wouldn't have to send back a similiar amount of money. As long as the trade keeps them under the soft cap, they can take on a contract without sending a player back. They could send a heavily protected 2nd back that will never actually convey. Since the Lakers only have the Cavs 1st and can only trade that or their own future picks. I don't think any of those 1sts alone will get rid of Deng's contract without salary coming back to the Lakers. Especially since there aren't very many teams this summer with enough cap space to take on Deng's contract.
