Lakers Lopez extension nets late picks I believe they have 2 late 1st rounders

Nets 2nd pick Deng Mozgof

Nets Draft Lonzo Ball

Lakers 2018 sign George he will come since Lopez will be there Lakers then trade Randle Clarkson both nets pick from Lopez trade plus the hou pick for butler

George ingram
Lopez Zubac

1.) 19 May 2017 19:57:14
The Nets would absolutely jump on that, but I don't think the Lakers would do it. For the second trade, I don't think that's nearly enough for Butler.

2.) 19 May 2017 20:38:46
Getting Lopez and moving Deng and Mozgovs contracts would be smart moves for Lakers but if it takes giving up the #2 pick to do so I don't think its worth it. Adding the two late 1sts I don't think changes that. If Lakers give up #2 pick it should be for a superstar period. Lopez is a very good player but I wouldn't consider him a superstar and on an expiring contract I don't think his value is that high (Nets shopped him hard last season and couldn't even get a mid first for him) .

There is likely a deal here somewhere with Nets willing to take on bad contracts for assets but I don't see Lakers giving up much more than Houston pick, Randle/ Nance, Clarkson in order to get Nets to take on Deng and/ or Mozgov. Maybe if they included a 1st or two Lakers would add Russell but I see that the best Lakers would offer. Lakers can always just sign Lopez in FA if they clear cap space.

Nets Deng hou pick

Lakers cap space

Nets came out in said they will take bad contract for a pick

1.) 18 May 2017 04:38:30
Unless Nets get a better offer from Portland to take their bad contracts I see no reason why Nets would say no to this. Lakers could also sub Clarkson for the 1st which would clear even more cap space for them and give Nets a youngish solid player.

2.) 18 May 2017 15:14:45
I'm cool with either scenario.

3.) 18 May 2017 15:29:29
What a waste of cap space just to get a pick.

4.) 18 May 2017 17:04:44
Lakers would obviously have to get something. Would it be the Nets 2nd they got from Boston, $1 in cash considerations, or the draft rights to a 35 year old who was drafted 12 years ago?

5.) 18 May 2017 17:15:51
That's a lot of cash coming back for just the Houston pick. but I like the train of thought, and I've been thinking along the same lines with Noah and the Knicks. If you combine those thoughts:

Nets trade: Lopez, Booker
Nets get: Deng, Noah, Rockets pick, Knicks pick, LAL 2nd rounder

Lakers trade: Rocket's 1st rounder, own 2nd rounder, Deng, Clarkson
Lakers get: Melo, Booker

Knicks trade: Melo, own 1st round
Knicks get: Lopez, Clarkson

Nets get draft picks, but lose their financial flexibility for the next three years. By the time their picks develop, they have both Deng and Noah coming off the books. They'll wind up with 5 picks in this draft, so they can go ahead and stash a few overseas to get he most bang for their buck.

Lakers bring in Melo and Booker to bolster their frontline, as they look to start being relevant again with Ball, Russell, Randle and Ingram in the mix.

Knicks bring in sure things in Clarkson and Lopez instead of one rookie, and are able to offload Noah and get something real for Melo in the process. Jackson already said he's not expecting anything from a rookie, so he likely wouldn't mind moving the pick. They'll have room to make a signing or two as well, so they can sign a SG or SF as well. I'd look for a guy like Redick, and bring in a defensive guy like Tucker or Thabo.

Lakers PG13 Lopez extension

Pacers Top 3 pick Randle Deng

Nets Clarkson Mozgof Hou pick

Nance Jr

1.) 15 May 2017 02:19:13
I think it'll take more than the pick and Randle to get George especially if they want to include Deng's large contract too.

Nets would be smart to get whatever they can for Lopez's expiring contract. Clarkson is a youngish piece and the Houston first helps to stomach Mozgov's large contract so I don't think its a bad return.

Lopez would be a decent center for Lakers to get and being from Cali gives them an advantage to resign him. Lopez is a great offensive force with 3pt range and solid post up game while not a terrible defender/ rim protector. Where he lacks is rebounding.

2.) 15 May 2017 03:33:48
So lakers dump horrible contracts and still get the most valuable pieces in both deals? Please get real.

11 May 2017 22:26:25
Knicks Whiteside

Heat top 5 pick lee Noah

Sign Reddick and a starting cheap pg

1.) 11 May 2017 23:39:36
The Heat have no reason to move Whiteside and that is a terrible package for.

10 May 2017 23:48:19
Knicks 2017

Knicks Lopez

Nets top 5 Noah

Max out cp3

Nets don't mind taking Noah contract because there rebuild will be couple years to get top 5... Knicks get Lopez that fits the triangle perfect and can spread the floor max out Cp3

1.) 11 May 2017 05:34:06
I don't see Paul wanting to go there. He'd be leaving many millions on the table unless it was S&T. Not too sure Knicks would want to do that.

2.) 11 May 2017 16:34:49
I don't see Paul wanting to go there, but I've actually thrown out that Noah and #7 for Lopez trade myself. At that point, as the Knicks, I'd see what was out there for Melo, and go for it. I use the T'Wolves as a good fit usually, but he could also fit with teams like the Bucks or even Denver where the Knicks would be able to get a real player in return as opposed to just salary.

Bulls Rubio Levine 2017 top 5

Wolves Butler Rondo

15 Apr 2017 21:30:44
Top teams melo can go to if traded:

1.) 15 Apr 2017 23:18:21
What would Raptors trade for him? I don't think he fits with DeRozan and Lowry.

2.) 15 Apr 2017 23:45:35
I like Clippers and Heat alot. Clippers would be the better destination as far as winning but Heat I think would have a much easier time acquiring and could give a more attractive package to the Knicks.

Don't think Melo would want to go to Toronto and not sure he'd be a great fit on that roster.

The Bulls could work I guess although I think that franchise should be trying to move Butler and reset instead of repeating what they did with Wade and Rondo (getting old, past prime guys) which didn't work out.

I think Atlanta could possibly work as they have other veterans without rings in Millsap and Howard.

If Melo wants to stay in NY and doesn't care about winning Brooklyn could work. Brooklyn isn't going anywhere and don't have their own pick next year so he could help sell tickets and possibly help them not give another top pick to Celtics.

I think Oklahoma City would be the best basketball fit for Melo although he probably wouldn't want to go there.

Washington Wizards is another potential destination as Melo is originally from Baltimore. I could potentially see Wizards giving up Porter in a deal for Melo if Knicks also took Mahinmi's contract and added some other pieces.

3.) 16 Apr 2017 04:57:13
If I'm New York, I am NOT taking back Mahinmi with Noah's contract also still on the roster.

4.) 16 Apr 2017 15:51:48
Bulls fans: It can't get any worse than this.
Gar/ pax: Hold my beer.
