Moves for Cavs to get Bron to opt in:
OKC--Thompson & Korver
Cleve--Melo
Memphis--Hill #8
Cleve--Parsons #4
Charlotte--Love & JR
Cleve--Walker & Batum
For Cleveland, they take on Batum and Parsons, but get Kemba and #4. Kemba, Bron, Osman, Batum, Melo give them good length, scoring on perimeter. Melo is Melo, but he can give them some scoring when Bron and Walker are on the bench. At #4, the can look at Bagley, Doncic, Jackson, Bamba, Porter Jr.
For OKC, Melo did not fit. Thompson and Korver would help their bench and Korver is the kind of spot up player that fits better with Westbrook.
For Charlotte it may not seem like the best haul for Walker, but you get you all star in Love and someone to take Batum. JR Smith has a team buy-out option in 2019, so he gives them a nice trade chip next summer.
For Memphis, dropping four spots to dump Parson is worth it. Hill has a 1 million dollar team buy-out next summer.

They only move down 4 spots and rid themselves of the Parsons contract. George Hill has essentially 1 year remaining. A BR rumor suggested they should trade with clippers. 12 and Harris for 4 and Parsons. I think it is very plausible for Memphis to trade down in the lottery in order to dump Parsons.

Yes the clipprrs trade makes sense. A wing like harris helps the grizzlies. Hill is crappy and wiuldnt start.

Trade has nothing to do with Hill. He is an expiring contract, and with the 1 million dollar buy-out, he would be a very nice trade chip. Again, it has nothing to do with him as a player, it is more about his contract.

memphis could hesitate despite getting 2 really good picks, batum may be slightly better than parsons but their contracts are basically identical next two years but batum has a 27 mil po for 20/ 21 which he would be crazy to turn down.
its questionable for charlotte too, depends on how they value future v present.

I agree with your point about Batum, you could just do the deal w/ out Charlotte and Memphis would get Love instead of Batum and 11. With Hill and Smith both having team options in 2019, they could be very attractive trade pieces next summer.
I think getting 3 lottery picks might be enough to take on Batum, as you said he is better than Parsons.

If Memphis is rebuilding, I actually like taking on Batum. He's a good guy and a solid locker room presence. He has a horrible contract, but it's not like he'd be a major cancer. That said, Memphis buys out JR Smith instantly, because he would absolutely become a distraction and a cancer.

cavs could make better trades then this. what happens if conley gets injured then lebron is back having to do all the work and loses to gsw again or maybe even the celtics. lebron needs more reliable players.

i feel like boston shouldn't have to give up hayward and kyrie for this return considering cleveland would be lucky to get anything from lebron leaving. and the knicks are getting beter than what they’re giving.

Toronto is not giving up Derozan for that, especially when you throw in Lowry. Both those guys have reasonable contracts, they can do better. I will agree that they might explore rebuild mode, but will wait on what Lebron does. If he leaves the East, they stay in tact. Also, like how you stated the mavericks line-up. funny.
