Cleveland / Sacramento

Cavs get: R. Gay, K. Koufos

Kings get: K. Love, J. McRae

Both Gay and Love are currently injured, but the salaries work. Thoughts?

Mr.Sluggo

Why would Cleveland do this?
R Gay is a free agent.
And K Love was^playing good B Ball this year.

But i like this for this for the Kings :-) :-)
K Love- Cousins would be a good combi.

2.) 17 Feb 2017 20:52:03
Gay tore his achilles and is out until atleast the beginning of next year and is a freeagent. Love is out 6 weeks with a minor knee operation. Gay is older and no where near as good as Love.

Den - Sac

Kings get: Lawson

Nuggets get: Landry, Miller, Evans

The Kings get an upgrade at the point while the Nuggets dump Lawson's contract for Landry and two expiring contracts.

The Kings and Pistons are rumored to be back at the trading table.

Detroit gets: Thompson, Terry, $7M trade exception.

Why? Thompson is capable of backing up both the C and PF position and he is much cheaper than Smith. Terry is expiring, and the trade exception gives the Pistons some additional flexibility they need to sign Monroe.

Sacramento gets: Smith

Why? He's a defensive upgrade over every other PF on the King's roster who can also pass and block shots.

Everyone wins.

Mr.Sluggo

1.) This is going to be a good month for us pistons fan Joshua Smith will no longer be here but its going to be a 3 team trade.

2.) Instead of Terry they should ask for Williams at least they have something to try and work from. Thompson is a 8th man off the bench at best and Terry is not worth it in any situation the Pistons have 5 PG's and 4 SG's sign on the roster. Trading Smith for that garbage isn't worth it and they have the money for Monroe right now. Detroit hangs up laughing

3.) Detroit calls back and takes the trade and throws in 2 million in cash to rid themselves of the cancer Smith

Kings - Pistons

Smith for Thompson, Terry, and Williams.

This deal works and both teams benefit. The Pistons get rid of Smith's contract so they can sign Monroe to a max deal. This trade creates a Pistons frontcourt of Drummond, Monroe, and Thompson, which is not only affordable, but all three players are at least 6'11". The other two players are expiring contracts.

The Kings would benefit by instantly upgrading at the 4. It should also be noted that the Kings would probably be one of the teams interested in signing Monroe next summer when he's a free agent if they don't trade for Smith now. By then, Rudy Gay's $$$ contract will be over, freeing up plenty of extra cap space. Just an observation.

Mr.Sluggo

1.) You go from saying the Pistons sign Monroe to max then you say the kings sign Monroe next season.

2.) This trade still leaves us with no idea of who starting at SF or SG

3.) The Pistons have Drummond, Monroe, and Smith. Monroe is a free agent who will be getting a max contract, according to the Pistons front office. The problem with them doing that is they have to offer another max contract to Drummond very soon, and they owe Smith 54 million over the next 4 years.

The bottom line is that if the Pistons want to keep Monroe, they will need to trade Smith to another team. If they won't trade Smith to the Kings for cap space, then the Kings aren't interested, and they will probably be pursuing Monroe instead. Clear it up any?

4.) True, Sluggo and now the Pistons are looking at getting IT instead of the proposed trade

Boston Detroit Sacramento

The Celtics get: Thompson, Outlaw (exp), IT, 8th pick

The Kings get: Rondo, Smith

The Pistons get: Landry, Terry (exp)

All teams sacrifice and all benefit.

Mr.Sluggo

1.) God no

Why would the Kings do this?

They have a backlog of bigs with Bagley III and Giles needing more minutes. Adding Gordon to the mix would only stunt their growth and his contract would make resigning their players who are still on their rookie contracts that much more difficult.

That trade would put the Kings into a must-win-now situation with the Warriors still dominant in the Pacific. I think that they are better off waiting for their own window instead if rebuilding the Pelicans.

The Kings are building a team that has been timed to contend after the Warriors begin their decline. Their youth (Fox, Giles, or Bagley) are not on the table for any trades.

Counter offer: replace Bagley with Cauley-Stein, remove Moore, Bogdanovic, and one of the future picks.

I don't think the Kings are interested in trading WCS unless it's an offer that they can't refuse. They are shopping Koufos though.

Replace WCS with Koufos and you have a deal.
