Boston - New Orleans Trade

Boston TRADES:

Isaiah Thomas or the rights to Fultz
Avery Bradley
Ante Zizic
Amir Johnson (for salary)
2018 1st Round pick

Boston RECEIVES:

Anthony Davis

PG - Markelle Fultz or Isaiah depending on item #1 above
SG - Marcus Smart
SF - Jae Crowder

Johnson is a FA, would have to be Zeller. Which 18 pick? They'd want Crowder instead of Bradley and also Brown. And even then I don't think that's enough.

Anthony Davis is a great talent and it would probably take that type of offer for Pelicans to consider moving him but I don't like it for the Celtics. Celtics do need a big man but I don't think they need one the caliber of Davis and would be better suited getting someone slightly worse or someone that made less money so they can maintain strength in the rest of their roster.

I'm not sure how keen Pelicans would be to move Davis before they fully give Cousins and Davis a chance to succeed. That duo could potentially break the league as there isn't any team that would matchup well against them. However, it will be tough to build around the two salary wise, that is if they are able to extend Cousins next offseason. If next season doesn't go well they could always lose Cousins to FA. Making a trade like this probably wouldn't embolden Cousins to stay through a rebuild so one could realistically view this trade as them giving up both Cousins and Davis in which case it definitely isn't worth it.

Cousins and Davis will be NBA best duo next. Cousins reunited with Thomas, things did not work out to well the 1st time.
