76ers trade Fultz, TLC, Korkmaz, Bayless, Lakers 1st round pick 2018, Kings' 1st round pick 2019, Rockets' 2nd round pick 2018
Spurs trade Kawhi

- resign: Redick, Belinelli, A.Johnson, Booker
- still own 3 x 2nd round pick 2018 (probably Nets', Knicks' and own)
- Covington 6th man at wing (SF/SG)

- let Parker, Lauvergne, Forbes walk
- waive/trade Bayless
- Manu retires due to rebuild, so Gay and Green will not pick up their player's option
- resign Anderson, Bertans
- Spurs and coach Pop like european talents like TLC and Korkmaz
+ main reason: Fultz and Lakers' (2018) and Kings' pick (2019)

1.) 23 Feb 2018 12:13:16
The picks are nice, I'm just not sure that the Spurs want to take a rookie who has both missed the season, as well as had his shot mechanics called into question as the centrepiece of this deal.

2.) 23 Feb 2018 13:51:27
Sixers can't trade both of those picks, because one of them will be going to Boston.

3.) 23 Feb 2018 14:17:10
The Sixers can't move both the Lakers and Kings picks since one will be moved to the Celtics unless the Kings pick lands at #1. That makes this one iffy to me. The potential of Fultz and Korkmaz would make this intriguing to me as the Spurs, especially if there's issues between them and Leonard. But I think they'd need to get at least one additional first.

4.) 23 Feb 2018 14:17:42
If Fultz is having the problem he is having (a psychological one) it will cost a pick in itself to unload him. Not one player in this can make SA better why would SA do this. It's absurd to think this is a good offer for Kawhi. PHI is thinking Hinkie is looking pretty good now. Didn't draft a complete bust, and trade a pick to do it.

5.) 23 Feb 2018 16:10:11
Jorga, Fultz value is probably plummetting, but he still has value. There probably isn't a team in the league that wouldn't give up a mid to late 1st for him.

6.) 23 Feb 2018 16:15:28
I rather have Ingram if I was the spurs.

7.) 23 Feb 2018 18:23:06
Rkenne your entitled to your opinion. I saw what I saw in the background of the Bret Brown interview. Until that is gone, I'm a seller, and wouldn't give up anything for him as a buyer. It's a clear Hitch, and it didn't appear he was making any baskets.

76ers trust the process! (easy path to dynasty)

In 2018 76ers should remain on their current "trust the process" way for 1 year:
- resign Redick, Belinelli, A.Johnson all to 1y contracts (to higher than the market average)
- take Team-Option on Holmes
- trade Bayless and 2nd round pick to create roster spot -> draft Robert Williams PF/C (talent, mentality/motor, rim protection, work ethic, 2PT-FG%...)

- 76ers can play Simmons with 2 x SG (shooter) at the same time in some rotations, while Simmons would defend the SF or even PF
- 76ers should hold on Fultz and Korkmaz while Redick and Belinelli can secure shooting from SG
- R.Williams can learn behind and from A.Johnson, Embiid, Saric and develop into rotational player in his rookie year (nice fit with Embiid who can play outside on offense, while maintain rim protection from C and(!) PF position on defense, and also nice fit with Saric)
- most importantly let Simmons, Embiid and the others make their own experiences, so they learn how to win and lose and develop into leaders/winners/superstars

In 2019, after their 2nd consecutive playoffs appearance, 76ers should start a new chapter as contenders and make off-season moves like a contender -> so the first chapter of "trust the process" is over
- FA: Redick, A.Johnson, Holmes, Belinelli, Anderson
- really good cap flexibility to complete the empty roster spots and maintain some cap room for future re-signings (Simmons, Saric, McConnell)

1.) 19 Feb 2018 13:59:08
I disagree. They should do everything they can to go out and get a star in free agency. They've got they there young team in place at this point. They need to spend money in free agency before they're over the soft cap. This year and/ or next they need to be aggressive. They're an extra star and a Simmons jumper away from being one of the leagues best teams and that's without even factoring in if Fultz can put it together. Look at what the Timberwolves just did and they made that jump while giving up some of their young talent. The 76ers might be able to add some similiar talent and another lottery pick, while keeping their entire young core.

2.) 19 Feb 2018 17:28:07
If the Sixers made a splash in FA similar to Butler, they easily become a top 2-3 Eastern seed.

3.) 19 Feb 2018 22:33:37
I'm not sure if youth is on Fultz side or not, but his shooting problem is similar to Barkely's golf swing problem. It's scary to think about. A guard who can't shoot at all is not good for NBA success. Has to re-learn like he's a kid again. From the beginning.

4.) 19 Feb 2018 23:45:25
Youth clearly isn’t on his side. Good point. I mean he’s an old 19/ 20. Career is over. He will take 15 years to learn again. He needs to learn basketball again like a kid. I’d trade him for a protected second if you could get it.

5.) 20 Feb 2018 02:42:36
Never get an over exaggerated, made-up, contrived, insulting response from this guy above. I posted nothing close to your smart-a*# reply. A psychosomatic issue to overcome is re-learning from scratch. It is like shooting a basketball your first time. Look it up, look up Barkley's ordeal. It is a serious issue. Downplay, and make derogatory responses all you want, but I guarantee PHI isn't laughing. I would obviously keep Fultz, and hope for the best, but seriously is he trade-able, or is it likely he starts next season?

6.) 20 Feb 2018 09:50:43
Hamburger O'riley, Hamburger Springer, Hamburger Povich, need your own show where you blow the tiniest bits up into ridiculous proportion on a daily basis. Propaganda specialist, Sultan of spin. What a joke.

7.) 21 Feb 2018 00:05:07
Hamburger helper, is rarely very helpful on here. Kind of a sour, putrid, gut rotting MSG, GMO, intestinal disease creating, infection really. Surgeon General put out a warning about it I think.

Hornets trade Walker, Batum
Hornets get Jackson, Thompson, S.Johnson, Shumpert, 1st round pick 2018 Nets

Pistons trade Jackson, S.Johnson, Ellenson
Pistons get Thomas(use trade exception), Batum

Cavs trade Thomas, Thompson, Shumpert, 1st round pick via Nets 2018
Cavs get Walker, Zeller, Ellenson

- sure Hornets lost some talent with this, but with Nets' and own pick Hornets could have a good draft (good draft class) in order to finally overcome mediocrity
- build around Monk(20), Johnson(21), Kaminsky(24), Lamb(25), Hernangomez(23), MKG(24), Thompson(26) and picks!
- tank for a PG (to build behind Jackson) and best talent available

- all in move with a new IT in Mo-Town and i think Detroit will have arguments to ensure IT's longterm stay (talent, contender status... + uncertainties about IT's future at all around the league)
- also get a playmaking wing, who can make plays, shoot the 3's and defend with Batum
- trade for a wing like W.Chandler, Evans...

- Cavs need a change in locker-room and some fresh blood, Kemba will all bring that immediately, Zeller will bring more dynamic and hustle play in the paint. Ellenson is a very talented big (#18 pick in 2016) who will learn from Love and Zeller
- yes Cavs lose the Nets pick but Kemba is clearly an upgrade over IT (age, contract situation, fit)

1.) 08 Feb 2018 16:06:26
Kemba Walker is not being traded.

Works on trade machine:

Spurs trade K.Leonard, D.Green

Suns trade J.Jackson, D.Bender, T.Chandler, own 1st round pick 2018 (unprotected), Bucks' OR Heat's 1st round pick 2018

-> Spurs complete rebuild around Murray, Jackson, Bender, Suns picks and own picks while remaining relevant due to their veterans Aldridge, Gasol, Parker, Anderson, Mills...
-> Coach Pop will get all the talent out of Murray, Jackson, Bender and their 3x 1st round picks 2018 like he did before with Duncan, Parker, Ginobili, Leonard.... future looks bright

-> Suns go all-in with Leonard-Booker duo, 1A defensive + 1A offensive potential
-> Suns have the flexibilty and assets to make moves and add players via trades and FA

1.) 01 Feb 2018 00:29:41
I'd like to hv Leonard, but I'd have to make the suns pick top 7 protected. Or remove it and add the 2nd Miami pick along with the toronto pick.

31 Jan 2018 22:12:04
Works on trade machine:

Mavs trade Matthews, Noel, McRoberts
Mavs get Randle, Deng, Bayless, 1st round pick Lakers 2020 (top10 protected), 1st round pick 76ers 2018 (top10 protected)

Lakers trade Randle, Deng, Zubac, 1st round pick 2020 (top10 protected)
Lakers get Noel, A.Johnson, McRoberts (all expiring contracts)

76ers trade A.Johnson, Bayless, 1st round pick 2018 (top10 protected)
76ers get Matthews, Zubac

-> Mavs add Randle + 2 x 1st round picks for taking Deng's and Bayless' contracts

-> Lakers get rid off Deng's horable contract, Noel and/or A.Johnson could remain as rotational players at C

-> 76ers add another shooter in veteran SG Matthews + talented C Zubac. they don't need 2 1st round selections in next years draft

1.) 02 Feb 2018 00:48:03
Sixers pass. No reason to do that.

works on trade machine

Hornets trade Walker, Batum, Monk
Hornets get Jackson, Shumpert, Johnson, 1st round pick 2018 Nets, 1st round pick 2020 Pistons

Pistons trade Jackson, Johnson, Galloway, Ellenson, 1st round pick 2020
Pistons get Thomas(use trade exception), Batum, Rose, Monk

Cavs trade Thomas, Shumpert, Rose, 1st round pick via Nets 2018
Cavs get Walker, Galloway, Ellenson

- sure Hornets lost some talent with this, but with Nets' and own pick Hornets could have a good draft (good draft class) in order to finally overcome mediocrity
- gain much flexibilty

- all in move with a new IT in Mo-Town and i think Detroit will have arguments to ensure IT's longterm stay (talent, contender status... + uncertainties about IT's future at all around the league)
- get a playmaking wing, who can make plays, shoot the 3's and defend with Batum

- Cavs need a change in locker-room and some fresh blood, Kemba will all bring this immediately, Galloway is a solid vet, Ellenson a very talented big who will learn from Love
- yes Cavs lose the Nets pick but Kemba is clearly an update over IT (also longter, age, contract situation) and Ellenson also was a #18 selection by the Pistons in 2016
- get another trade exception for Thomas to go after Evans

Who will make the playoffs in the west?

#1Warriors (/)
#2Spurs (/)
#3Rockets (/) (added CP3)
#4Thunder (+2) (added PG13)
#5Wolves (+8) (added Butler, Teague, Crawford, Gibson)
#6Grizzlies (+1)
#7Pelicans (+3) (training camp)
#8Clippers (-4) (new face/team Teodosic, Gallinari, Beverley but very experienced)
#9Nuggets (/) (due to the west)
#10Blazers (-2) (due to the west)
#11Jazz (-6) (need at least 1 season to recover, but still playoff contender)

1.) 10 Jul 2017 14:01:55
I think the race will be legitimately 11 deep (maybe even 12 if DSJ on the Mavs can continue looking half as good as he looks in summer league since with Matthews, Barnes, Dirk and Noel they don't have a bad starting lineup) .

Personally I'd have Nuggets making it ahead of Grizzlies, Pelicans and maybe Clippers. They could really cement their place in the playoffs if they upgraded at point guard (I think they should roll the dice on Bledsoe who I think should be relatively cheap to get considering recent trades, his injury history and the direction Suns are going in) . The Nuggets depth should help them a lot over the course of the season.

If I had to bet I'd say Grizzlies don't make it (and certainly not as 6th seed) as they are an older team that has already lost Randolph, Carter and could potentially lose Tony Allen and Green.

I think Clippers will struggle mightily without Paul who made Jordan and Griffin's life a lot easier. Beverley although a great defender and shooter isn't a playmaking pg (I don't know much about Tedosic) .

Pelicans will be interesting to watch since Davis and Cousins duo can be unstoppable or a complete train wreck. Even so I'm not convinced the supporting cast (Holiday included) is enough to get them by especially over the grind of the 82 game season.

Many expected Portland to be much better last season. Maybe they rebound this year with Nurkic adding a new wrinkle to their team.

Jazz should have a good team and they have guys on their team who can probably step up a bit in Hayward's absence but with no major signings to try and replace his scoring I think they'll struggle to put the ball in the hoop especially with little floor spacing having Rubio, Favors and Gobert on the floor potentially starting together. Don't like their odds to make playoffs.

Spurs trade Aldridge, Green, 2nd round pick
Spurs get Wade, Okafor

Bulls trade Wade
Bulls get Aldridge, 2nd round pick Spurs

76ers trade Okafor
76ers get Green

- Murray will be Spurs long-term PG solution so don't go for older Lowry, Hill, Teague...
-> instead resign veteran backcourt to secure veteran leadership (Ginobili, Mills)

- resign Gasol(1+1y), Mills(4y), Simmons(4y), Dedmon(4y), Lee(1y) & Ginobili(1y)

- Okafor will get a boost in SA under coach Popovich and the winning culture of the franchise and its veterans (Leonard, Parker, Gasol, Ginobili, Wade...)
- in 2018 Wade, Parker & Ginobili (+ Gasol maybe) will be FA (Aldridge and Green would be under contract until 2019) = gain much flexibility ~35m cap space more
-> Add major FA at frontcourt (primary: PF)

- get a veteran, former All-Star PF/C Aldridge to teach Markkanen, Portis at least until 2019
- add 2nd round pick

- add veteran shooter and good locker room guy in Green
-> release Henderson

1.) 29 Jun 2017 18:16:23
spurs giving too much. Take Green out of the deal.

2.) 30 Jun 2017 02:43:09
No way Spurs trade FOR an aged veteran with not much left and a last place team's reject.

29 Jun 2017 09:05:39

- young, talented roster but very thin on SF position

-> give offer to:
1. O.Porter Jr (max offer)
2. Iggy (max offer)
3. J.Johnson (10+m)
4. Tucker (10+m)
5. Ingles (10+m)
6. Snell (10+m)

- resign Lawson

1.) 29 Jun 2017 10:20:41
None of those guys are long-term options at sf (Snell is only one kind of young) and for the next few years Kings will be so bad that it won't matter who they have there. Even if they gave Iggy the max I think he'd take substantially less to at least stay with a contender but probably isn't leaving Warriors.

26 Jun 2017 23:40:01
Pelicans Off-Season

Trade 1:
Pelicans trade Asik, 1st round pick (top 10 protected)
Bulls trade Wade
(Bulls will have plenty of cap space next few years)

Trade 2:
Pelicans trade S.Hill, 2nd round pick
Kings trade Gay (s&t 3y 50m)

- resign Holiday, Cunningham, Motiejunas
- pick option on Crawford

roster: 13 Player

1.) 27 Jun 2017 01:10:16
The money doesn't look like it works and Wade doesn't seem like a good fit. They need shooters.

2.) 27 Jun 2017 01:57:37
Wade and Gay wouldn't be my first, second or third options to complete that roster but it is talent in the door for Pelicans which they could really use. Floor spacing will be huge for them so I'd be trying to add as many shooters as possible. Spurs are allegedly shopping Danny Green so he'd be high on my desired list (3rd team would have to be involved to absorb salary since Spurs won't want much coming back) . If I were Pelicans I'd be trying to add via S&T guys like Reddick, CJ Miles (I think he'll opt out), Patty Mills, Arron Afflalo (if he opts out, i think he has team option) . I'd also try to scoop Nick Young off Lakers.

I also wouldn't rule out a sign and trade of Jrue Holiday for more depth from a team like Nuggets who are in need of a good starting point guard. If could get something like Chandler and Harris that would be a huge win in my opinion.
