Sixers run from this deal. Why on Earth would Philly give up a #1 pick, Covington and Chandler to take on Porter's ridiculous max contract. Getting rid of Baylessis not so important anymore because we don't need his cap space. We missed on LBJ. This trade is God awful for Philly.

Jvoug, where do you see RoCo in this deal?

3.) 10 Jul 2018 04:49:47
Covington not in the deal because he would be a great asset to come off the bench. Wilson is an expiring deal for Cleveland to get off there books. A lineup of Fultz Simmons Porter JR Saric Embiid would be the best starting lineup in the East. Then u have TJ JJ Covington Smith Bolden Johnson Korkmaz Belignica Shamet Holmes filling out the bench. That's a good young group with some solid vets to lead this team to a title. JUST LIKE THE EAGLES BABY!

the process will not be completed by Jimmy Butler or cry baby Kawhi it will be Andrew Wiggins. Sixers trade Chandler, Covington, TLC, Holmes PHI 2019 1st round pick and 2 2021 2nd round picks. PG: Simmons,TJ,Shamet SG: Reddick,Fultz,Korkmaz SF: Wiggins,Smith,Anderson PF: Saric,Bolden, C:Embiid,Johnson stretch bayless and sign a kyle o'quinn

great between simmons and Wiggens sixers will never win with no shooting, leonard would never play for philly long term.

If I'm Philly, I'm not giving up Covington straight up for Wiggins without the picks. Covington is an elite defender and solid shooter that has a ton of value off the ball. Why give that up for a guy who does little without the ball in his hands and hasn't even been a plus player to this point his his career? Wiggins has shown nothing but ability to put up empty stats. Unless you're a team starting a rebuild and get him super cheap, why even risk taking that on.

I do agree Covington is a good defender but that playoff performance was terrible. Andrew Wiggins is a guy that is just about to hit his prime. if you look at the timeline we have a team of Wiggins, Simmons, Embiid, Fultz, Saric, Smith, Bolden, Korkmaz, TJ, Shamet that could stay together and still have about 20 million in space for 2019 free agency. Wiggins could benefit so much from playing with a talent like Simmons.

I'm just not sure how Simmons would really help Wiggins. He's not a very good catch and shoot guy and most of his offense comes from him isolating. That also seems like what he wants to do. He was upset with not getting as many of those touches this year. Do you really want to take the ball away from Simmons and Embiid, who are pretty efficient offensive players, to get Wiggins's volume scoring? That's not even to mention that without the ball in his hands, he doesn't give you much. He doesn't space the floor, he's an awful defender, and he's a below average rebounder. Covington isn't going to create offense, but he has 5 years worth of stats that prove his playoff shooting numbers were below what you can expect from a larger sample size and given that more than half his shots are from 3, he's more prone to variants than most players. Even the elite off ball shooters like Korver, Reddick and Thompson have had some playoff series that look terrible just because their 3s weren't falling. Wiggins may be slightly more consistent on the offensive end, but he's consistently going to give you a little over a point per shot and he's going to take a ton of shots. That's not good. Look at their playoff numbers. Covington was scoring 8 points on 8 shots and Wiggins was giving you 14 points on 13 shots. That's all while Wiggins is getting torched on defense and Covington is giving you great defense on and off ball.

I would be more interest in Pau Gasol to add to the sixers then I would Kawhi. Gasol is a championship player that could help this young core grow. How about Pau Gasol and Danny Green for Wilson Chandler TLC Richaun Holmes and throw in a second round pick or 2 since we got like 50. You keep the core of Simmons Fultz Saric Covington and Embiid with young guys Smith Korkmaz Bolden TJ Shamet on bench with veteran Green Gasol JJ Johnson Belijca. Cap space summer of 2019 with Green JJ Johnson Anderson Bayless coming off books.

bulls should be building their young team chemistry with Markannen and Carter at the 4 and 5 position not bringing in a one year rental on a bloated salary that won't stay there.
