Some ideas if the Warriors decide to fully use Iggy's Trade Exception:
Trade 1:
*Warriors get: SF/SG Rodney Hood
*Blazers get: the No. 48 pick (via Dallas), 2021 2nd round pick (via Minnesota)

Trade 2:
*Warriors get: PG/SG Delon Wright
*Mavericks get: the No. 51 pick (via Utah), 2022 2nd round pick (via Toronto)

I don't think Golden State would let such a valuable TE go to waste, and I'll be honest; idk fully the whole financial state of the nba but I'm guessing because of the virus; they will prob pay more in terms of a hard cap or something? if they are over the cap since the NBA lost money and had to lower salary cap? (Maybe someone can explain this better) But anyways, I just think adding Hood will give them scoring off the bench and Wright as a good defensive point guard behind curry who can also distribute the ball. Not sure if a low second in this year's draft and Minny's second (which I'll assume will be at best in the 30's or early 40's), but Hood was traded to Portland for two seconds and some other players so I thought since he is on a one year deal; the value might be the same (also since he was injured this past year). Wright might not be as valuable to the mavs anymore since they have Brunson coming back next season and Burke looked too good in the bubble to let go so easily. Also they have curry, THJ, and Doncic taking up the guard spots so I'm thinking Dallas might be okay with getting almost $10M off the books for free even tho delon is pretty solid and maybe have more cap space for the 2021 offseason since THJ 's contract is up next year. I'm thinking two low seconds (assumption that Toronto is still decent in 2022) might be enough compensation. I don't think the Warriors will try to get like an aaron Gordon, Marcus Smart, or Myles Turner with the TE since they would have to give up at least a first (prob Minny's first next year). I just think it makes more sense if they use the $17M TE to get 2 or 3 players who can help off the bench since I think their bench next year will not be that great (besides Looney and Paschall). Sorry this was long but if y'all have any ideas or any changes you'd make, would love to hear it. I think the Warriors might have the most interesting offseason since they can make a variety of moves with the TE and the No. 2 pick.

I could see Dallas doing this but maybe not Portland. Hood is what they need in Portland. 3&D wing.

Iguodala’s TPE is only $17.2, and by CBA rules, it can’t be aggregated to take in a larger salary than $17.2. That’s very bad, because there is limited talent under $17.2, and even if for the ones that are, since their contract is such a discount, it would cost GSW significant assets.

What the Warriors need to do is use the TPE on a player that makes nearly $17.2, then trade the player later. Player’s salaries can be used to match at 1.25x plus $100,000, so suddenly, GSW would have access to any player $21.5 mil or less.

That increase is very valuable, because this adds a bunch of new options in that price range, including Rozier, LaVine, Hardaway, Gary Harris, Oladipo, Brogdan,
Miles Turner, Sabonis, Randle, Aaron Gordon, Fournier, Bojan Bogdonavic.

One of the best contracts to absorb would be the expiring James Johnson for the Wolves. Newly acquired players can’t be aggregated in trades - they need to be traded individually, and he has a salary that Bob Barker would like . close to the price without going over.

Nets giving too much.
You will need Randle when Davis is traded. Your making it easy for Snakers?

I don't know what is crazier: the rockets 4 first rounder offer for JB, or that the Wolves have not pulled the trigger yet. Thoughts on all this?

jaymocha

1.) 26 Oct 2018 22:33:15
It’s one of two things probably. Thibodeau wants players to help him keep his job and it’s 4 1sts, Knight and filler. Or It’s being held up because Knight and Chriss can’t be traded until the 31st.

2.) 26 Oct 2018 23:03:16
Wolves in the drivers seat until the offer is rescinded. The 31st is the earliest knight and Chriss can be traded.

3.) 27 Oct 2018 02:20:43
they are waiting on oct 31.

4.) 27 Oct 2018 03:31:31
I’m guessing that it’s 1 since Butler played. The Wolves need to fire Thibodeau. This is verging on malpractice. He clearly doesn’t care about the future of the franchise. The only thing he cares about is his own resume.

5.) 27 Oct 2018 03:49:23
That’s most GMs Rkenne. There’s a bunch of situations that would be different if they weren’t thinking of their personal career. It’s also fair to factor in your career in trades, considering how little leash most of these guys get.

6.) 27 Oct 2018 23:39:12
That 25 first can be awesome.
