Butler wants out of Minny and although he has 3 places he wants to go; we all know the t wolves will take the best offer if it's a team he wants or not. The raptors may be a team to push for Butler since they are basically going all in this year.
*T Wolves get: PF/C Serge Ibaka, SF/PF T.J. Warren, SG Troy Daniels, 2021 2nd (trom TOR), 2020 2nd (from PHO)

PG Teague/Rose
SG Wiggins/Daniels/Okogie
SF Warren/Deng/Williams
PF Ibaka/Tolliver/Bates-Diop
Ce Towns/Dieng/Patton

*Raptors get: SG/SF Jimmy Butler, PF/C Taj Gibson

PG Lowry/VanVleet/Richardson
SG Butler/Wright/Powell
SF Leonard/Anunoby/Miles
PF Gibson/Siakam
C Valanciunas/Monroe/Noguiera

*Suns get: PG Tyus Jones

PG Jones/Okobo/Harrison
SG Booker/Bridges/Melton
SF Jackson/Ariza/Reed
PF Anderson/Holmes/Peters
C Ayton/Bender/Chandler

Not close to enough for Butler. Ibaka is a negative contract at this point. I think Toronto would have to include OG in any trade, maybe Wright as well.

Also, feels like Phoenix is getting a bad deal too. Jones is a below average backup PG. Warren is a good wing on a reasonable deal. And Phoenix gives up a pick? Why?

*T wolves get: Tobias Harris, Jerome Robinson, Patrick Beverley, 2021 2nd
*Clippers get: Jimmy Butler, Tyus Jones

- T wolves do this to send JB to his desired destination. Their return is probably the best they could get knowing his situation is similar to Kawhi's (one year rental). Harris and Beverley are one year rentals so they can clear cap to get a replacement for JB. Robinson is what they can get and he's a young lottery pick who has potential to be a great player.
-Clips do this to get JB right now. Waiting till free agency is a huge risk with other teams like the Knicks and Nets, his other desired destinations, will pursue him. They could spend this year to convince him to stay and also it's his #1 place to go so he'll likely resign. They get a young guard who has proven a good bench piece before Rose took his minutes. The reason for trading Robinson is he was not going to get minutes behind Bradley, williams, SGA, Teodosic, and now Jones. Getting Butler for this return is reasonable since they're swapping exp contracts for exp contract so it doesn't hurt them financially this offseason either. Clips need to seize this opportunity since Butler wants to go there; they'd be dumb enough to pass on a star. Also they're not certain on getting Kawhi, so getting butler is a must.

T-Wolves are not interested in expiring contracts. They are not an attractive location for free agents, so they will want a star on a longer term deal to headline the trade. Clippers best bet is to include Avery Bradley, Robinson, and picks.

I believe Bradley is expiring.

Bradley signed a 2 year $25mm deal this year. $12mm in 2018, $13mm in 2019 with only $2mm guaranteed.

*Pistons get: SG/SF Nicolas Batum, SF/SG Dwayne Bacon
*Hornets get: SF/SG Stanley Johnson, PF/C Jon Leuer, SG/PG Langston Galloway

- Pistons do this to upgrade at the 2 or 3, wherever they want to outbid Batum. Get rid of two bad contracts. Replace Johnson with bacon, who is arguably better since Johnson hasn't proved much.
- Hornets do this to get rid of batum's awful contract. Clear tons of cap for 2020 with batum off the books. Also get Johnson, who could prove that he was worthy of being a lottery pick.

*Magic get: SG/PG Tyler Johnson
*Heat get: SG/SF Terrence Ross, PG D.J. Augustin

Who does this help?

I like Johnson and all, but he has an awful contract and wouldn’t come close to making Orlando any more competitive.

And what do Ross and Augustine offer Miami that they don’t already have? Cap relief?

This isn’t an awful trade, but why would either team bother to pursue it? Are you envisioning Johnson as Orlando’s starting point guard?

18 Sep 2018 19:19:41
*Suns get: PG Tyus Jones
*T Wolves get: SG Troy Daniels

- Suns get a young point guard who could start. Could get lots of minutes since Rose took up some of his last year.
- T Wolves get shooting off the bench. Swap an exp contract for exp contract.

There is no way redick could play SF. Prob put Simmons at SF and Fultz starts, Redick comes off bench.

Its a great idea all around, but I think the T wolves would get greedy and ask for Middleton rather than Snell.

Warlock good explanation, I understand hill’s contract is not the best to look at. And yes Winslow would be better for the Pels and Heat, and I guess you could take Ajinca our do the deal so the money matches. But most of the players the Heat get back are off the books in 2 years, and some of their big contracts expire in 2020 like Dragic, Tyler and James Johnson that could lead to huge cap space (not sure what big FA’s there are) . Agree that the heat likely want to keep j-rich, and I would hope the Pels would do this to get Davis to stay and not be unhappy. Whiteside isn’t the best, but he is the most realistic option to trade for. And I think the heat would cut McGruder for roster spots.

Second one should be Hernangomez instead of Lyles. Lyles is a bit valuable to Denver, and beverley is a one year rental.
