Throw in a first from Minnesota to Ny and a 2nd to both from the Spurs.

2.) 21 Jul 2017 16:26:29
Solid deal for the Knicks, but can't see why San Antonio would do that.

3.) 21 Jul 2017 17:04:45
Confusing why the Knicks would give up essentially an expiring contract in melo for 2 expiring contracts. Best bet if his is the junk return, hold onto melo and have his salary come off the books next year.

1.) 19 Jul 2017 18:45:41
Pretty bad for Toronto. The reasons to move Valanciunas are to potentially clear salary or so they can slide Ibaka to center and have a more versatile and athletic lineup. This trade does neither for them and Kanter makes more money (although he has 1 year shorter on his deal than Valanciunas) and isn't an upgrade on Valanciunas in the defensive or athleticism department. A future spurs pick which will likely be in late 20s doesn't compensate this.

Spurs aren't getting much back in return for Aldridge. Valanciunas is younger but there is a reason Raptors are trying to deal him and they don't even have him on the court down the wire in the playoffs. I think Spurs would need more to consider this type of offer. At this point they are likely stuck with Aldridge as I doubt a better option will arise now if it hasn't already.

OKC getting a complete steal. That team would be pretty good.

Cavs are taking on way to much salary.

2.) 18 Jul 2017 21:15:30
@rkenne salaries work out per trade machine.

3.) 18 Jul 2017 22:06:11
I really like Portland bringing in Kevin Love. That starting lineup is great (so long as Nurkic is who Portland thinks he is) .

4.) 18 Jul 2017 22:12:40
Bucks get screwed

5.) 18 Jul 2017 23:54:21
Personally not a fan of Portland getting Love. That starting lineup is great on the offensive end but have three bad defenders in Lillard, McCollum and Love. Love would likely be in the same awkward role he is in Cleveland as a 3rd offensive option and with Nurkic in the middle will still be relegated to behind the 3pt line which isn't the best use of his skills.

That being said in this trade Portland isn't giving up much of anything (some bad contracts, Vonleh and a future 1st) for Love so don't think you could pass up that value. I think Love is from Oregon originally so it would also make a good story of him coming home. Adding Love would improve Portland's chances of making the playoffs but I still don't think it makes them a favorite to win their first series.

6.) 18 Jul 2017 23:56:33
No way bucks do this they get robbed.

7.) 19 Jul 2017 00:13:23
I think Bucks say no. They would rather go for Love himself.

8.) 20 Jul 2017 01:20:48
Portland has no interest in Kevin Love.

Like this trade for everyone but Detroit. Pistons get an awful return for Drummond.

2.) 18 Jul 2017 15:06:42
Drummond is overrated.

3.) 18 Jul 2017 16:26:45
I agree that Drummond is overrated, but they still should get more than that back for him.

4.) 18 Jul 2017 18:57:44
Drummond is overrated? I feel like considering he's already been an allstar, he's a solid shot blocker, an efficient, but unskilled scorer, one of the best rebounders in the league, a physical freak, and only 23, at this point he might be underrated. He needs to work on his game defensively, but he has the potential to be an absolute game changer on that end.

5.) 18 Jul 2017 20:37:56
Precisely; you view him as potential.. which means he is currently overrated.

6.) 19 Jul 2017 14:15:55
Rkenne. that means you legit have never followed him, or looked beyond the most superficial statistics and his combine results.

He made one all star team. Roy hibbert made two. what's your point?

His team is SIGNIFICANTLY better defensively when he is off the court, and a decent amount better offensively when he is off the court.

His offensive game is nothing. He literally takes 95% of his shots from within 5-7 feet of the rim. Aka, he just dunks or does tip ins. Yes, he rebounds, but so what?

For his career he is a 38% free throw shooter. Do you understand how awful that is? He averages less than 1 assist a game. Awesome. And you said he's a solid shot blocker? ARe you nuts? This guy does not leave the paint. He is down low the entire time. He barely averaged over 1 block a game this year. 1.1 to be exact. Among centers, ONLY CENTERS, he was 18th in blocks per game. In blocks per 48 minutes, and ONLY centers, he was 23rd. This dude is tremendously overrated. if you simply looked beyond his combine stats and that he made a single all star game.

Love is definitely an upgrade over Parsons (even if he managed to stay healthy) but giving up a 1st (Unless they have another 2020 first they aren't allowed to trade it since they already traded 2019 pick) and having to take on Noah as well as giving up two quality role players in Daniels and Wright is not cheap price to pay. Not sure if the money would work for them tho.

For Cleveland I don't think the trade makes them significantly better once you factor in the adjustment period for Melo and Drummond and the risk of shaking up what is a good but not perfect team may not be worth the small benefit this trade may bring.

New York takes back a lot of salary in Parsons and Jackson but both when healthy and at their best have proven to be solid contributors and would give Knicks a playoff worthy lineup in the East.

Pretty bad return for Pistons on Drummond (although Thompson isn't a big downgrade I just don't think he has same upside) but they are able to get out of Jacksons contract (although if rumors to Pelicans are true I'd much rather do that) .

I guess these are "Bold" predictions so you tried to deviate from conventional wisdom. However, I don't see Hornets making that big a jump since Howard isn't a difference maker at this point in his career.

In the west I think Rockets lack of depth will hurt their seeding in the regular season but they should be a top 3 team in playoffs (even if they aren't a top 3 seed) . I agree the Spurs could likely fall off as they haven't really made any additions this offseason and are an older team getting a year older. I'd love to see Pelicans do well but I think they'd be hard-pressed to outperform Blazers and Nuggets. In a very deep west I don't think Lakers make it into the playoffs since Suns and Kings are only teams I'd confidently say they are better than in the west.

okay why does gsw have so many great role players on the bench. they have no need to add young and casspi on the wings when they have a great young player in mccaw and another good player in iggy. also livingston. someones not going to get minutes. definetely no room for ellis.
