What is Denver Nuggets guard Jamal Murray's trade value?

I think he'd definitely be a lottery pick in this years draft and probably top 10 though in 7-10 range. He is a bit of a tweener in large part due to his limited athleticism but in his first season he proved to be a solid role player on a borderline playoff team. He is fairly young (turned 20 in February; so did Josh Jackson) and his strong basketball IQ helps make up for some of his limited athleticism. Percentage wise he wasn't that great of a shooter (34% from 3) but based off his form, college #'s and his FT % he should be able to get that up to around 40% eventually. His strengths are his shooting ability and ability to play both guard positions but his biggest weakness is his lack of athleticism which hurts him on defensive end and offensively in creating space. I'd say he is kind of similar to Monk as a shooter and tweener but not half the athlete Monk is and Murray has a much higher bball IQ/ ball skills than Monk.

I remember reading his player comps coming out of college and they said his upside is Chauncey Billups (not a great athlete but a great scorer/ shooter and point guard) . Downside is Randy Foye who is a similar tweener type who showed flashes but could never really put it together and live up to being a top 10 pick. He is still a serviceable pro that has experienced a long career.

What is Caris Levert's trade value?

Mid to late first probably.

Although he played well for the Nets it has to be taken with a grain of salt because it is the Nets. Factoring in his injury history and I believe his lack of upside I don't think he is much more valuable than a 20-something pick which is around where he was selected (although Nets probably reached a little) .

Mid first.

I'd say higher, top 12 pick.

I'd argue his value is even higher, top 10 pick minimally. He is only 2 weeks older than Josh Jackson, has already proven himself in the NBA which eliminates some of the bust risks. Additionally, he has displayed the skills to be able to play point guard as well as shooting guard. His biggest asset is his shooting ability (this differentiates him from many of point guards in this draft class) which as displayed by teams in the finals is a bigger part of the game than its ever been. There isn't a team in the league that can't use a shooter and Murray projects to be more than just a shooter but someone who can create his own shot off the bounce and run an offense some.

If you look at a team like the Magic who are looking for a perimeter scorer and potentially a replacement for Payton I wouldn't be against them shipping #6 pick for Murray. He would be a very good fit there. Monk for his shooting ability I'd say is similar to Murray (as far as teams that would be a good fit) but I think Murray has more length and polish on his game while Monk is much more athletic and more of a pure gunner than Murray.
