CLE-NYK-BOS trade

Cleveland gets- Carmelo Anthony, Jae Crowder, Marcus Morris, Marcus Smart, Frank Ntilikina, 1st rd pick (NYK)

New York gets- Kyrie Irving, Iman Shumpert

Boston gets- Tristan Thompson, Willy Hernangomez

What do you think?

maplejordan

1.) 16 Aug 2017 19:41:59
I think it's not realistic, but hey I love it.

2.) 16 Aug 2017 21:21:52
Why would Boston do that? Seems terrible for them.

3.) 16 Aug 2017 23:19:43
Don't see Boston putting Crowder into this deal. You're basically asking them to help the Knicks pay to get Irving.

MIA-CLE-NYK-DET trade

Miami gets- Kyrie Irving

Cleveland gets- Carmelo Anthony, Goran Dragic, Justice Winslow, Luke Kennard, Bam Adebayo

New York gets- Tobias Harris

Detroit gets- Kevin Love

Whats your thoughts?

maplejordan

1.) 15 Aug 2017 15:35:33
Moving Love for Melo still doesn't make sense for the Cavs. It makes less sense now than before. The Cavs need some continuity and Love can't walk at the end of the year. So theoretically, if Lebron walks, the Cavs can still use Love to add to whatever young talent they get out of Irving.

I also don't think that deal for Irving is as good as the Phoenix deal.

2.) 15 Aug 2017 17:15:09
So now your hopes are to build around Kevin love? Worked well for the wolves.

3.) 15 Aug 2017 17:44:08
No, I don't think they should build around Love. I think they should keep him this year and if Lebron walks trade him for picks and/ or young players.

DET-DEN-PHO-CLE trade

Detroit gets- Kyrie Irving, Tyson Chandler, Iman Shumpert

Denver gets- Reggie Jackson, 2nd rd pick (DET)

Pheonix gets- Andre Drummond, Emmanuel Mudiay

Cleveland gets- Eric Bledsoe, Kenneth Faried, Luke Kennard, Henry Ellenson

1.) 11 Aug 2017 16:15:47
Why does everyone keep posting Irving to Detroit trades? They have the least amount to offer yet also always come away with the best value. Detroit isn't going to get Irving even in a 3 team trade because Detroit can be cut out of every trade proposed.

2.) 11 Aug 2017 16:45:53
I agree that Detroit doesn't have the best set of assets to offer, but if they were willing to offer something like Drummond, Kennard, Johnson, Smith and a first for Irving, Shumpert, and filler they could probably get a deal done. I'm just not sure betting their entire future on Kyrie is worth it for them, but without a ton of luck, they're basically built to be a low end playoff team that's well over the cap for the foreseeable future.

3.) 11 Aug 2017 23:18:30
I don't see LeBron wanting Drummond. When he had Shaq he struggled because shaq clogged the lane. Drummond will do the same. Plus big men are irrelevant these days unless they can hit the 3.

4.) 12 Aug 2017 00:08:05
I think that was more about Shaq's more methodical post gsme, lack of post passing ability, and at that point lack of athleticism.
I do agree that old school back to the basket centers are going out the window, but big men don't necessarily need to be able to shoot ( it's better if they can, but they aren't unplayable if they can't) as long as they can play at a high level on defense, are athletic, and can be elite level offensive rebounders. Drummond's defense isn't there yet, but he has all the skills to become an excellent defender, he has elite level athleticism for his size, and he is a top 5 rebounder in the NBA. I don't think he's a huge upgrade over Thompson in the short term, but his upside is way higher.

5.) 13 Aug 2017 13:07:45
Why would Denver trade Mudiay and Farried?

Love this one for Cleveland, Phoenix and Detroit

Maybe if Denver receives

R Jackson+ 1rnd pick Detroit 2018, 1 rnd pick Miami 2018 and 1rnd pick Phoenix 2020 (lottery protected)

PHI-MEM-MIL-CLE trade

Philadelphia gets- Iman Shumpert

Memphis gets- Kyrie Irving, Jahlil Okafor, Greg Monroe (Expiring contract)

Milwaukee gets- Tristan Thompson

Cleveland gets- Mike Conley, Marc Gasol, 1st rd pick (MIL)

What you think?

maplejordan

1.) 09 Aug 2017 19:43:54
Not a huge fan of it for Milwaukee. Valuewise it doesn't seem terrible for them, but they are already a really solid defensive team. If they're going to give up a first, I think they would want more offense.

DET-PHO-DEN trade

Detroit gets- Eric Bledsoe, Tyson Chandler, Kenneth Faried

Pheonix gets- Andre Drummond

Denver gets- Reggie Jackson

What do you think?

maplejordan

1.) 09 Aug 2017 19:15:21
Denver wants no part of Jackson.

2.) 09 Aug 2017 22:27:12
I think that if all they have to give up for Jackson is Faried, they may be interested. The extra year of contract will make this less attractive, but there need is at the point, and Faried is excess to requirements in the front court now that Millsap is on board. Maybe one more asset, like an unprotected second to Denver is reasonable.

What kind of trade do you guys think it would take for the Pelicans to get Carmelo Anthony?

maplejordan

1.) 08 Aug 2017 18:47:45
Mid-to-late first round pick or a lower rotation player should do it. Anthony likes the nightlife, so you actually would have a shot at getting him.

LA can't dump 2 bad contracts and get an All Star in Return.

I run all trades through trade machine so I know salaries work and the O'Quinn was just so they could get another draft pick.

I don't think I would give up Wiggins for Irving let alone for Thomas. If the wolves didn't sign Jeff Teague I could see them trading for Irving. but they're probably not going to spend close to 40 million next season just on PG's.

Bmfims- Between the 2 players, Wiggins would be better fit, but I agree that they should go for Melo to try to keep Lebron happy.

I think if you drop the 1st rd pick its a pretty good deal.
