Cavs get: Terrence Jones
Pelicans get: Jordan McRae, Kay Felder
Cavs get another fron court option that can (maybe) match up with Draymond while creating a roster spot for Chalmers/Sanders etc.
Pelicans get a desperately needed SG and a cheap/upside 3rd string PG

Lakers get: Rudy Gay (Post injury), Willie Cauley-Stein, and Affalo.
Kings get: Luol Deng and Lou Williams
Lakers get to hand SF over to Ingram, but still have a veteran for next year with only 1YR left on his deal. Also get to see if WCS is the Center of the future. Affalo gives wing depth since Rudy won't play this year.
Kings get Deng who will actually play rest of year (unlike Gay) and he is signed for 3 more seasons. Lou gives them a scoring punch that is lacking in backcourt and w/ out Rudy.

Kings shouldn't do this but who knows with them trying to make the playoffs (I don't see the accomplishment in extending season a few more games to get destroyed by Warriors) . The fact that Deng is signed for 3 more years is a bad thing and Gay as an expiring contract is a good thing. Lou Williams isn't on as bad of a contract so it isn't quite as bad. This would be a win-now sort of move which is stupid for a team like the Kings who basically only have Cousins. It also would hinder their ability to potentially add a FA (there should be plenty available who are better than Deng at possibly a cheaper price and who are younger) .
This would be a complete steal for the Lakers. They somehow dump Deng's contract for an expiring contract, add a young defensive center, get Afflalo who is an expiring contract all for giving up Deng (who should have very negative trade value with mediocre stats, a big contract and 31 yr old) and Lou Williams who should have solid value to a team trying to win but who Lakers would probably like to move to get more shots for their young guys (and increase their chances of keeping their pick)

I like this trade but I'm not sure it requires Cameron Payne and a 1st round pick.
