Swap Harris and Russell via sign and trade. If BKN retains Russell and signs Kyrie, they're too guard heavy. Russell is the perfect backcourt fit with Simmons.

1.) 13 Jun 2019 18:22:20
Interesting. Obviously both would need to want to, but it would allow Brooklyn to make possibly another signing with only needing to keep Russells cap hold on the books. How close is Philly to the tax line though? They can't cross it for a calendar year.

2.) 13 Jun 2019 18:48:24
I read that Brooklyn is interested in bringing Thad Young back in. Pacers are said to be very interested in Russell. S&T with Indiana?

Russell 4yr @ $100m to Indiana
Young 3 yr @ $42m to Brooklyn

13 Jun 2019 03:49:18
If LAC strikes out on the big free agents, any chance they undo the deadline trade for a sign and trade with Tobias Harris? Giving Shamet, a 1st rounder and the Miami pick back to Philly

1.) 13 Jun 2019 05:35:23
No way the Clips take it though.

2.) 13 Jun 2019 06:46:43
Or they can just sign him back.

06 Jun 2019 12:44:00
Sixers Off Season
McConnell, Boban, Amir, Korkmaz, and Monroe all walk

Trade J. Simmons and picks 44 and 54 for cash considerations

Max out Jimmy and Tobias
Sign Dedmon as your back up center
Resign Redick, Scott, and Ennis

Draft Matisse Thybule (24), Ty Jerome (33), and Carsen Edwards (34)

not 100% sure on the monies situation so I didn't even post it. I know it would be tight, but I'm pretty sure its possible

1.) 06 Jun 2019 13:56:28
Of Simmons $5.7 mil salary next year, only $1 mil is guarenteed so Philly may have to just waive him.

If so, and you resign Harris and Butler to max offers, Philly will be at $106. Now comes the question of how much can you resign Scott, Reddick and Ennis for? $25 mil for next year? Well, that puts Philly up to the luxury tax line. Now using Philly's MLE on Dedmond and signing their 3 second rounders will be another $12 mil for next year which will all be over the luxury tax.

So the real question becomes, are the owners willing to pay for the luxury tax knowing that Simmons max deal is also on the horizon?

2.) 06 Jun 2019 14:16:59
They've said on multiple occasions they're ready and willing to go into the luxury. I think its cause they know us Sixers fans are a little crazy but anyways thanks for outlining the financials.

3.) 06 Jun 2019 15:55:21
Understand about willingness to pay luxury tax. But you have to avoid falling into the same trap that OKC and Miami have done and be left with zero future flexibility in the team's salary cap. Paying luxury tax for a team that fails to get beyond the 2nd round of playoffs.

4.) 06 Jun 2019 16:15:00
I think hitting on the draft is the best way to avoid that. That way you can trade bad contracts (Harris and Simmons are most likely) for poor compensation and still be ok. I. E. Boston being ok with Kyrie leaving cause Rozier can fill the spot. got to hit on draft picks.

5.) 06 Jun 2019 18:39:41
"Gotta hit on the draft picks" is the core belief in "Trust the Process". Philly doing 50-50 at that task.

6.) 06 Jun 2019 18:48:20
EB gives me way more hope than Collarlangelo ever did.

7.) 06 Jun 2019 19:13:51
So you go with the same team as this year, except now a year older. and less depth.

8.) 06 Jun 2019 20:22:25
The team was only together for like 3 months and they lost a close game 7 on the road to the eastern conference champ with their best player having a bunch of injuries.
Running it back with some small tweaks to the bench isn’t exactly a horrible plan.

9.) 06 Jun 2019 20:28:17
more depth. their biggest issue was the entire team going into the toilet when Embiid came off the floor. They had 4 backup centers and none of them could play. Dedmon is better than all of the ones they're letting go.

10.) 06 Jun 2019 20:31:26
also, what's wrong with most of those guys getting another year of experience?

11.) 06 Jun 2019 20:46:39
Especially if the Klaw goes to LA.

07 Feb 2019 00:26:37

Magic get Markelle Fultz, Justin Patton, Furkan Korkmaz, all four 2nd round picks this year

Sixers get Terrence Ross, Jonathan Simmons, Isaiah Briscoe

Magic bet on Fultz, and get a lot of picks that could be flipped to get back into the 1st round
Sixers fill out their bench for title run with some insurance in getting another year out of Simmons if they choose

03 Feb 2019 15:15:06

Hawks get Korkmaz, Frank Jackson, Kings and Bulls 2019 2nd rounders both from PHI
Pelicans get Chandler, Fultz, Smith, Muscala, Patton, 2019 1st rounder from PHI, and 2021 Heat and Sixers first rounders
Sixers get Holiday, Mirotic, and Taurean Prince.

Only works if NOP was bluffing about not wanting to trade Holiday

1.) 03 Feb 2019 17:28:57
Pels do that quick.

2.) 03 Feb 2019 17:34:24
That is truly horrible for NOLA.

3.) 03 Feb 2019 20:08:33
WHy? They get 3 first round picks and 2 guy’s drafted in the lottery in the past 2 years.

17 Apr 2019 16:08:20
The Sixers have a 1% chance of getting the first overall pick which is almost 4x better than the 1, 6, 11 us Processers were praying for back in 2015.
On the off chance that they actually get that #1 pick, do they trade it or take Zion? What kind of bounty would that pick command?

1.) 17 Apr 2019 16:14:29
Keep it and let Harris walk.

2.) 18 Apr 2019 12:11:44
Why would you let Harris go? You could bring back the same team and send Redick to the bench.
Simmons/ McConnell
Butler/ Redick
Harris/ Smith
Zion/ Bolden
Embiid/ Boban.

3.) 18 Apr 2019 13:34:23
Going to need Reddick more than Harris to spread the court as well as the flexibility to run plays where Reddick is coming off multiple screens. Without Reddick, teams will defend Philly with a pack it into the key defense/ zone.

4.) 19 Apr 2019 15:44:54
You could get AD with it for sure. You could get Beal. The Suns pick, their 2020 pick, Jackson, and Bridges. The Cavs 1st, the 26th via the Rockets, the Cavs 2022 1st, and Love. A million Knicks picks and young guys.

01 Feb 2019 12:25:04
Will the Knicks buyout Matthews and Jordan? Would be perfect for the Sixers to pick up

1.) 01 Feb 2019 17:13:51
I saw someone say that Matthews had an eye on GS, which would make sense for both sides. I think he could pretty much pick any playoff team to sign with, he's a highly valuable position of need for pretty much everyone in the league.

I could see Jordan ending up with the Lakers, or maybe in Houston with Capela missing another month or so.

2.) 03 Feb 2019 01:30:06
I can see Jordan with Lakers, Bucks, Wizards

Matthews however could have a lot more: Pacers Rockets Lakers Raptors Blazers Warriors Sixers.

3.) 04 Feb 2019 15:53:36
Knicks will turn those players into future picks.

15 Jan 2019 16:44:17
any chance kd leaves the warriors for philly this summer?

1.) 15 Jan 2019 16:50:37
Anything is possible.

2.) 15 Jan 2019 19:26:01
I think it’s a low chance. I don’t like Phili as a destination due to Simmons lack of a shot, and Embiid’s injury history.

3.) 15 Jan 2019 23:20:16
I'd say no chance if Butler resigns.

4.) 16 Jan 2019 01:35:48
Yea the hope is we sign kd before jimmy tries to bounce. I think there’s a decent chance he doesn’t get a max cause of his reputation.

5.) 17 Jan 2019 01:23:37
I'd say no. No chance in hell.

01 Jan 2019 13:25:53
For the record, I do not want to get rid of Ben Simmons! However, trade rumors involving him are becoming less avoidable and that won't change until he can shoot. At the moment what do we think philly could get for him?

1.) 01 Jan 2019 13:46:46
It’s actually kinda odd. Last year he was on a career arc to be an mvp candidate. However he really hasn’t improved at all. If anything, he’s worse now that everyone knows he can’t shoot past 4 feet.

He still is wildly valuable. But he absolutely needs to go to the right system. Full of shooters but not distributors. I just don’t think his value to teams at this point matches his overall value.

Point is. He need to start learning to shoot. This is absurd.

2.) 01 Jan 2019 14:41:24
Thanks for answering my question.

3.) 01 Jan 2019 15:33:54
Theoretically, he could be the main piece in a trade for someone like Davis. Maybe, you throw in a protected 1st and some cap savings for the Pelicans. I think you only trade him if you’re getting an elite player back.

4.) 01 Jan 2019 15:42:38
Sixers could be creative with cap and add another 15-25mil player into the mix for a couple seasons maybe. I would hate to lose the court vision and ooints in the paint Simmons provides. He's sort of like a smaller mason plumlee. An underrated player I think.

5.) 01 Jan 2019 17:10:58
I’d take Simmons any day he defends, passes unbelievable, rebounds well yes he can’t shoot but Philly can slide him at the 4 it’s a luxury .

6.) 01 Jan 2019 19:45:20
True. I guess all would be solved if Fultz was the guy we expected.

7.) 02 Jan 2019 02:34:08
Terrance Ross and johnatinthin Simmons for ben.

8.) 02 Jan 2019 17:56:04
Hah! That's hilarious Shiller!

12 Jul 2018 01:57:11

Sixers get:
Kawhi Leonard
Pau Gasol

Spurs get:
Bradley Beal
Myles Turner
Cory Joseph

Pacers get:
Dario Saric
Danny Green
Richaun Holmes

Wizards get:
Robert Covington
2019 1st round pick via PHI
2021 1st round pick via MIA

1.) 12 Jul 2018 05:55:14
Pacers should say no.

2.) 12 Jul 2018 08:22:52
Pacers could do this, Saric could be a better fit next to Sabonis.

Do we think davis wants to go to LA if lebron isn’t there?

My only gripe is that OKC team isn’t a contender, makes sense for everyone involved though.

Move the 24th pick to WAS. Does that fix it?

More likely they sign a center with the MLE than give up assets for a back up with a bad attitude.
