Just want to see what you guys think about this trade.

BOS- Porzingis

NYK- 2017 Nets Pick (Guaranteed Top Four, Best Odds for #1), Terry Rozier, MEM 2019 First Round, LAC 2019 First Round, Minnesota Second Round Pick 2017 (37th)

Way too much. Nets pick, Rozier and Minnesota pick should be enough. IMO both LAC and Memphis could easily be lottery picks because bith teams are stuck where they are and rebuilding is the most logical choice.

2.) 04 May 2017 22:38:30
I'd say add Avery Bradley to then Knicks or to a 3rd team then Boston can sign Hayward.

3.) 04 May 2017 23:06:35
As a Knicks fan, I could live with this. I don't know that Phil would do it, but I wouldn't throw my controller through my TV if this was announced on Sports Center.

4.) 05 May 2017 15:52:02
If they're even thinking about moving Porzingis, DA should be all over it this year. He would be the perfect compliment to Horford and would fit Stevens' system to a T. I think Rozier has been opening some eyes the last couple of games with Washington, but I don't know if he'd be the player in the middle of the trade. The obvious big get is the Nets pick (although I'd try to make it the 2018 pick first, get denied, then lower the rest of the cost to replace it with the 2017), but I think the player coming back would be a 2 or 3. I think I might be willing to put Crowder in the trade instead.

Crowder, both the nets and Celtics 2018 as well as two 2019 picks for Porzingis. Then, if they balk at that, I replace the '18 Nets pick with the '17, and I take both '19s off the table, knowing I might have to put one of them back into the deal. You then sign Hayward.

As the Celtics, you wind up with:

Thomas/ Smart/ Jackson
Bradley/ Rozier
Hayward/ Brown
Porzingis/ Yabusele/ Mickey
Horford/ Zizic

You also have 3 second round picks in this draft to either stash or move.

The Knicks would wind up getting their PG in the top 4. Let's say they wind up picking 1st and get Fultz, and that they don't get any help from the lotto on their own pick.

I then make a move with the Nets since you're flush with picks. The Nets are going absolutely nowhere, and have no way to get better. I trade the #7, two more 1st rounders and Noah for Lopez.

They'd shake out with:

Fultz/ 2nd Rounder/ Free Agent
Lee/ Free gent
Thomas/ Kuzminskas/ Ndour
Melo/ Plumlee
Lopez/ Hernangomez/ O'Quinn

That's a team that should be able to win a bit, gets a top caliber talent in Fultz, and brings in a shorter, albeit slightly more expensive contract at Center, except Lopez is actually good. It also moves Melo over to the 4 which is where he really should be playing. They still only have one top young building block, but it makes them much better in the meantime, and it gives them more flexibility going forward.

The Celtics have the potential to be an extremely talented and deep team, thanks to good contracts and the Brooklyn Nets.
If the Celtics get the first pick in the draft, I believe they will take Fultz.
I also believe they will trade Bradley for a future first rounder, freeing up cap space to go after Gordon Hayward. Let's say Hayward signs with the Celtics. The Celtics also have Ante Zizic and then Guerschon Yabusele coming over next year.
Then there's the 2018 Nets Pick, which right now is looking like a Top 5 Pick. This pick will likely give the Celtics someone like Michael Porter, Mohamed Bamba, or DeAndre Ayton.
I think the Celtics
Now, the Celtics ideal lineup in 2018-2019 would look something like this:

PG- Isaiah Thomas // Terry Rozier
SG- Markelle Fultz // Marcus Smart
SF- Gordon Hayward // Jaylen Brown
PF- Al Horford // Jae Crowder // Yabusele
C- Ante Zizic // Mohamed Bamba

Blazers get Noah Crowder
Celtics get Melo
Knicks get Turner Crabbe

Thomas/ Rozier/ Jackson
Bradley/ Smart
Jackson/ Brown
Melo/ Yubesele/ Mickey
Horford/ Zizic/ Zeller

Melo Celtics MVP 2018.

2.) 25 Apr 2017 22:05:02
Portland says no.

3.) 26 Apr 2017 00:15:42
Knicks say no!
Portland says yes
Boston says yes

Knicks pick up 50+ mil and are tied for 3-4 yrs like Blazers were.
Portland saves 30 mil and picks up 1 good player and a hope
Boston adds 30+ mil but adds PPG but lose on the defensive side.

4.) 26 Apr 2017 00:15:49
shizee -- Boston is not going to trade any starter for Anthony. Plus, in what world is 6-1 Demetrius Jackson going to start at small forward anywhere, let alone ahead of Jaylen Brown? Finally, there is no way that either Zeller or Mickey is on the team next year.

5.) 26 Apr 2017 02:42:55
Its a low risk move for Boston to go after Hayward. They have his college coach and a good team so maybe he leaves Utah. Moving Bradley would be a wise move too since with him Thomas and Smart all FA in 2018 things would get expensive especially if they choose to add another talent.

Getting Hayward and keeping their draft picks would obviously be ideal but I think if Boston can't get Hayward they need to choose a direction, either go all in and move the pick (s) for a star like George or plan for the future and try to move guys like Thomas and Horford.

6.) 26 Apr 2017 03:36:28
Jackson from Kansas oops supermelolover.

If Boston gets the #1 pick....

BOS- Paul George (with extension)
BLA- #1 Pick, Crowder

tombrady

1.) 24 Apr 2017 20:45:33
Celtics shouldn't trade Crowder. Trade Bradley instead.

2.) 24 Apr 2017 20:49:34
Nah Celtics want Melo only and draft Fultz.

3.) 24 Apr 2017 23:27:32
If Celtics are guaranteed that George will sign an extension I don't think its any question they do this trade. As good as Fultz may become chances are very slim he will be the two way monster George is. Even if he does become as good as George or better his timeline doesn't match this Celtics team that ended this season as #1 seed in the East. Adding George as a top talent in the league and one of the few guys who can go toe to toe with guys like Lebron, Durant and Leonard on both ends of the court is vital to winning a championship. Assuming George is already signed I see no downside in this move, they know exactly what they are getting; the two-way superstar they've been in search of the past few years. George could also prove to be an invaluable mentor to Jaylen Brown which will help cushion the loss of Crowder. Celtics would probably prefer to part with Bradley instead of Crowder for salary cap reasons (Bradley due extension in 2018) but Pacers probably prefer Crowder.

Celtics would still need to improve their rebounding by getting another bigman but they'd be well on their way to being a contender. Also, they still have plenty of draft picks including Nets 2018 where they could add a talent for the future.

For Indy I think they are in a bad situation after being swept and potentially George not making an all-nba team. However, getting Fultz to pair with Turner and Crowder to fill in on the wing wouldn't be a bad yield given their circumstances. They would likely be able to add another lottery pick in 2018 and have 3 promising pieces to build around.

4.) 25 Apr 2017 15:27:42
I don't know why you're saying Fultz wouldn't fit the timeline. He's not of an age with Horford, true, but the Celtics have Brown in house already and will be bringing in Yabusele and Zizic in the next season or two. Add to that whoever they get with next year's Nets pick and maybe Nader and you've got another really young core. Many of these role player guys like Crowder and Smart will still be plenty young to play with all of those guys once they hit their stride. I don't think it needs to be a decision between playing well now and playing for the future. they're kind of in a position to do both!

BOS- Drummond

DET- Bradley, Johnson, 'Nets 18

Simple, yet Detroit gets a good defender as well as clearing cap space and a likely top 5 pick in next years draft, which is already looking like it will be stacked.

tombrady

1.) 21 Feb 2017 23:00:15
That is the ideal return for someone like Drummond and the Celtics could use his rebounding ability.

2.) 21 Feb 2017 23:15:38
Finally, a believable Drummond trade. Thank you.

3.) 21 Feb 2017 23:26:26
I like Drummond going to the Celtics.

I would only trade Smart over Bradley and draft Fullz with the 2017 pick.

4.) 21 Feb 2017 23:46:55
Celtics need to give up those picks and get Drummond. Keep what they have and get Andre. This team with Drummond will beat Cleveland.

18 Brooklyn pick,18 Boston pick, Johnson and Bradley and Young. Get it done Danny!

Crowder has the athleticism to become a Butler and is on the best contract in the NBA.

Draft Alonzo Ball with 17 Brooklyn pick.

5.) 21 Feb 2017 23:57:59
Swap Bradley for Crowder and take Morris to Boston.

14 Feb 2017 21:28:51
BOS- Richaun Holmes
PHI- James Young

James Young has been playing well of late with Bradley, Crowder, and Brown all missing time. Holmes hasn't been able to and probably won't be able to carve out significant time in the PHI front court. Maybe Philly takes a flyer on Young here.

tombrady

1.) 14 Feb 2017 22:55:41
Crowder is back, Bradley and Brown will be back after the AS break. No need for this trade.

2.) 15 Feb 2017 04:06:40
What do crowder, bradley and brown have to do with this deal?

. on a side note. No one wants young. He's d-league at best.

Why would the Celtics do this when they could just sign a big in free agency and keep the first pick?

Hamburger It says Justin Jackson, who is probably a low teens-early 20s pick.

Rkenne. I think they would be willing to take those contracts to get a top 3 pick. their rebuild is going to take time anyway so it's not like they are going to need cap space to sign premier guys. Nets would definitely do this so they can draft a player with great potential.

This is not a good trade for Kings. Move from mid-lottery to a #23 which likely never develops into a good player. JV has a lot of salary and he's older, while WCS is cheaper and more athletic. Kings would never do this.
