According to sources the reason Monroe has not signed an extension is four reasons.!. He was in Africa and out of touch playing with Basketball with No Borders. 2. He doesn't want to play with Smith and Jennings doesn't like their attitude. 3. He is tired of losing the the losing culture and wants a change. 4. the contract offer to Monroe was less then Smith and if the Pistons think he is a building block then why offer him less? Monroe was upset with this and his agent wants him to make more then Smith.
Now he will sign an extension if Smith and Jennings were not here and he is offered $60 million over 5 years. Baring a trade he will sign the one year and be an unrestricted FA.
If he signs a one year Detroit should look to trade him the potential landing spots are Atlanta (Milsap and Korver), Oklahoma City (this would be hard Detroit doesn't want PG's or SG's and other then starters they have nothing to trade) and Portland (Batum and a draft pick). These are the true current rumors.
Gut feeling Monroe signs the one year and they try to trade Smith and Jennings at the trade deadline and sign Monroe to a long term extension during the season.

1.) Portland wouldn't trade Batum for Monroe, and if Monroe took the QO the salaries wouldn't be close.

2.) I said that Portland wouldn't make the trade and I also said that at the trade deadline the Pistons are going to look to move Smith and Jennings.

To stop all of these stupid Piston trades here is how its going to work. The Pistons will resign and keep Monroe period. The Kings signed Collision since they are not willing to march the I.Thomas offer from the Pistons. The trade will happen after the 10th of July Smith and Bynum will go to the Kings for I.Thomas and Thompson to match money. Once that deal happens Detroit will be maxed out for the cap. You can hate it or like it but that is what is going to happen so stop with the Monroe postings and idiotic Smith trades. You can now start on the Idiotic Jennings deals because he is gone.

totellthetruth

1.) Nobody wants josh smith. Please learn this piston fans!!

2.) Here is my idiotic Jennings trade if this happens which I actually think will. But I'd push for Jason Terry (and Travis Outlaw if needed for salary reasons) instead of Thompson because of their expiring contracts and his inflated 6mil salary. But back to Jennings.

Detroit Trades: Jennings
Detroit gets: Luol Deng (s&t)

Lakers trade: Nash & future 1st
Lakers get: Jennings

Cavs trade: Luol Deng (s&t)
Cavs get: Nash & future 1st from Lakers

3.) Dont see anything stupid about any pistons tradr involing Smith now yall Monroe trades are stupid but Smith will be gone by or after the 10th Pistons are willing to go to 9 or 10 mill just to getThomas period. Kings want some kind of value for him and Smith will be apart of that value rather yall like the deal or not. Pistons get played in the deal as well we still have no starting SG ( Meeks maybe and still not starting caliber. SF we getting a nothing but role players. Well I just can't wait for the deal to be done so we can move on

4.) For the trade to work kings need to send a PF back. Can't imagine it will work without Thompson or Landry.

5.) Don't see the Pistons taking on Deng his contract demands are to high for the Pistons after they complete the Kings deal. They will try to turn a Jennings deal into a starting SF.

All of these posts with Pistons and Thunder trades are garbage. Ibaka is going nowhere and the Pistons don't want Perkins. Stop sending Detroit Garbage for Monroe it isn't going to happen SVG is not going to accpet garbage, other wise Smith would be a King right now instead of a Piston.
The only team that has the cap room and the assets to pull of a trade with Detroit for Monroe and has been connected to Monroe is Atlanta.
But even Atlanta doesn't have the true asset Detroit is looking for and that is a true wing/SF.
The Suns have Green and Bledsoe but Bledsoe is often injured and Green is okay but not enough for Monroe. Green for Smith would work for the Pistons nor sure how the suns feel about it.
At the end of the day a trade to the Knicks is the best deal to be made for the Pistons. Smith and Bynum to the Knicks for Early and Dalembert.
Detroit loved Early in the Draft and likes what he brings to the table as the SF and Dalembert is a defensive presence off the bench.
Both Smith and Bynum would be a better fit for the Triangle offense as Smith will the PF setting the play in motion from the Elbow. Keeping him away from the 3 point arc, making him a passer and a scorer not shooter from 10 feet and in where he is effective, and allowing Anthony room to roam. A passing Big man is essential for the triangle offense to work and the Knick lack that.
At the end of the day Monroe is not going anywhere, and I believe Detroit is through tradeing until the trade deadline.

Detroit is not going to trade there first round pick and Meeks for Beverly. They could have done that at the trade deadline if they truly wanted him, they dont.

First of all KCP is going nowhere period. He is their best defender and this year has proven to be a very reliable offensive player. That makes this trade stupid. Second they are getting nothing and giving up a first round pick for what? Nothing you listed is worth first round pick.

Davis doesn't see much playing time and hasn't averaged over 10 points a game since the big ten season has started, their will be better players available at that time that can come in right away and add to the bench. The pistons will look for either Guard help or a big man in the first round is my assumption after SVG interviews, but BPA probably comes into the scenario for sure.

Detroit gives up three players to get one and a first round pick. This is not the Love from four years ago. No thanks.
